Lunch should be taken at the same time and increments as employees and does not count toward the eight hour daily service requirement. Regular attendance and punctuality are expected. Students are allowed four (4) absences per academic year that do not need to be made up. Second year students are also excused from placement for the equivalent of one additional day (8 hours) per academic year to attend required field section meetings with their Field Consultant. Finally, we ask that flexible scheduling be permitted during the last few weeks of each semester for completion of final examinations and assignments. Unless otherwise arranged, students are not expected to be in field placement during university break periods; if mutually agreeable, students may rearrange break periods or make up absences during these periods. Before break, students are expected to arrange for continuity of care for all clients and/or administrative projects. If questions arise related to attendance or scheduling, please consult the assigned UCB Field Consultant.
