A message from the President...
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
During the last year, I was both proud and honored to serve as your Lake
Hammock Village Homeowners Association President. I was very proud of all
those individuals who assisted the Board of Directors and myself in
accomplishing the things we were able to accomplish and all of the many
successful events we sponsored. We tried a lot of new things, some worked
and some didn't, but all were intended to improve and better our
community. We tried to work with complete transparency and accomplish
our goals with the approval and backing of our General Membership.
At tonight's Annual Meeting, I was again elected by your Board of
Directors to serve as your President for 2016. Once again, I am proud and
honored to serve in this position and look forward to working on some new
ideas and projects to make our community better. Included in your Annual
Meeting Notice packets were requests for the “Resident Improvement
Fund” and ideas for “Future Events”. We will be reviewing these
immediately and developing a plan of action for immediate discussion. We
encourage you to attend our monthly Board of Directors and General
Membership Meetings to offer your input.
And finally, I would like to take a moment to recognize our two retiring
board members, Sharon Bowden and Marilyn Smith, and thank them for
their service to our community. I would also like to welcome our two new
board members, Joyce Middleton and Joyce Wright, to the board and I
look forward to serving with them and our returning members on an exciting
and eventful 2016.

Jim and Joyce Middleton bought 50 Sargent in October
2014. Jim is from Alliance, Ohio and Joyce is from Canal
Fulton, Ohio.
Jim and Joyce met when friends pushed them into a
blind date in 1991. They have known each other 25
years and have been married 14 years. Together they
have six children, 16 grandchildren and one great
grandchild.
Joyce worked as Human Resource/Quality Manager for
Transportation Co. She retired after 30 years. Jim was in
sales for 35 years. Toward the end he was working in
medical supplies.
They took several vacations to Florida and looked
around at different communities to see where they
would like to live.
They like Lake Hammock Village and bought here in
2014. There were here for the winter months of 2014
and sold their home up north. Now they are full time
residents.
Joyce will be on the HOA Board and with her job
experience will work out just fine.
Jim and Joyce helped out with the New Year’s Eve party
and they also help with Bingo.
They have been on cruises and enjoy traveling. They are
close to the grandchildren, so they will be taking trips to
Ohio to visit family. They also have a cute little dog. If
you see them walking or riding their golf cart, make
them feel welcome.
David and Dona Rawson met in Texas. David is
originally from New York and Dona is from Denver,
Colorado. David was in the Air Force in Texas going to
tech school and Donna was going to Texas University
when they met.
David and Dona got married in 1973 and have been
married 43 years.
They have two adult sons. One son lives in Michigan and
one in Kansas. They have three granddaughters and one
grandson.
David worked for Flight Safety International for 35 years
on flight simulators. He traveled around to do this job.
Dona helped her parents in their business selling car
products in Colorado.
After they got married and moved to Kansas, Dona
worked in the hospital business office. She also sang in
the church choir.
In 2012, they started looking around the Florida area for
a place to retire. In 2015, they bought in LHV at 186
Glen Este.
Both like to swim, play CLR, dominoes, shuffleboard and
bingo. They also get involved with potlucks and
Wednesday coffee.
Tuesday is Disney day. They enjoy going every week.
Dona enjoys gardening, especially growing tomatoes in
January. Their family comes to visit and guess where
they all go…yes, Disney.
Make them feel welcome.
