DNA is regarded as the

information-carrying molecule.

Cells contain the DNA material that carries genetic

information of an organism.

One cell has trillions of

chromosomes which store the

DNA molecule in the nucleus.

DNA is known as

deoxyribonucleic acid.

The structure of a DNA

is double helix.

The backbone of the DNA comprises

of alternating sugar-phosphate groups.

The two backbones are held together by

complementary base pairing of the

nitrogenous bases through hydrogen

bonding.

The repetitive basic building blocks of DNA which

consists of three components.

There are four bases:

adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine (C) and guanine (G)

A complimentary binds with T.

C complimentary binds with G.

These two scientists were

known to discover the

twisted ladder structure of

life.

However, it was Franklin who

discovered the structure of the DNA

first before Watson & Crick.

Photo 51 remains as the most crucial

evidence of her findings towards the

discovery of DNA.
