ASSETS PROTECTION MANAGERS PROGRAM

Rationale: Effective management and leadership is an ongoing requirement in business today. There
is no greater need for a higher level of effectiveness as in the area of security and

security management is essential to every business’ success. Managing and coordinating
security needs requires the right knowledge and skill set to be effective. Whether an

LEVEL II: CERTIFIED ASSETS PROTECTION MANAGER (CAPM)
Rationale: Today's business risk environments have become increasingly more severe, complex, and
interdependent, both domestically and globally. The effective management of these
environments is a fundamental requirement of business and government. Boards of
Directors, Shareholders, Key Stakeholders, and the public correctly expect organizations to
identify and anticipate areas of risk and set in place a cohesive strategy across all functions
to mitigate or reduce those risks. In addition, there is an expectation that management will
respond in a highly effective manner to those events and incidents that threaten the assets
of the organization. A proactive strategy for mitigation of the risk of loss ultimately
provides a positive impact to profitability and is an organizational governance
responsibility of senior management and governing boards. The skills and competencies
essential to active protection and measurably effective response to the modern threat
environment are far more critical than ever before. Effective leadership within the top
levels of the organization and its related functions are imperative.
Organizational reputation, the uninterrupted reliability of technical infrastructure and
normal business processes, the protection of physical and financial assets, the prevention
of compromising of trade secrets, the safety of employees and customers, all rely in a great
measure, upon the effectiveness of the security executive at the top and the infrastructure
he or she has deployed to mitigate the varied risks.
Modern security management involves development of strategic initiatives, as well as
personal responsibility and autonomy in performing complex technical operations or
organizing others. This second level asset protection program will lead to certification as
an Assets Protection Manager who will fit into any organizational set up whether the
organization is international or national, on a large or modest scale, industrial, commercial
or government based.
Course Description:
The course takes the form of lectures, workshops, exercises and makes extensive use of
case studies. Delegates will also take part in a challenging security design project in which
they will devise a security plan for a notional blue chip company, with ambitious plans to
expand. They will then present their solution, along with the budgetary implications to the
Company's Board. By the end of the training, participants in this program will gain
practical skills and strategies to effectively and independently manage security on behalf of
corporations, banks, clubs, casinos, retail chains, transport companies, defense, security
firms, charities, emergency services, non profit or local, state and federal government.

ASSETS PROTECTION SUPERVISOR'S PROGRAM
CERTIFICATION: CERTIFIED ASSETS PROTECTION SUPERVISOR
Rationale:
When it comes to the performance of a security work force, the stakes are high. Emerging
challenges ranging from epidemics to the threat of terrorism, demand that the supervisors
in the security industry achieve high levels of performance and be fully engaged in their
work.
There is widespread agreement that, to elicit a high level of effort, employees must be
provided with effective leadership. For the bulk of the workforce, the most relevant
leadership comes from first-line supervisors. Supervisors have direct contact with workers
and impact day-to-day performance more than managers at other levels.
While some organizations may select supervisors on the basis of their technical
qualifications, experience has also shown that unfortunately, those with the best “hard,”
technical skills do not always make the best leaders. Of equal, if not greater importance, are
“soft” skills such as communication, team-building and conflict resolution.
Course Description:
Our Supervisors training for protection of assets is comprehensive and aims at equipping
mid-level security officers with a combination of skills in both safety and security.
Our safety component tailored to NEBOSH standards will train participants in coordinating
organizations safety measures, first aid administration and emergency procedures.
Our security component will train participants on supervisory and monitoring skills, report
writing, security and customer service, investigation, conflict management and workplace
violence, public event security, physical protection systems, electronic security,
information security, guard monitoring and discipline.
9 Risk Control Academy

first aid and implement basic safety procedures in the workplace. They will also be able to
