The judges Toni Gustafson, Roger Pratt, and Carol Costello have decided the four
winners of the JASSA scholarship for 2015. They are outstanding young scholars
with GPAs of more than 3.5, all of whom have taken Japanese courses, and who
plan to integrate Japan into their careers!
The hands-down winner is Luis Martinez of St. Mary's
University. Luis is the first of his family to go to college, and
although his major is music, he attended Middlebury
College Summer School and passed the Japanese Language
Proficiency Exam at the N3 level, meaning that his Japanese
is very advanced. He will be attending International
Christian University in Japan this summer.

Spanish as her minor. She has taken Business
