Regardless of her program choice, your child will participate in at least one cookout and one overnight experi-ence during her week at camp. Core CampCore Camp is the perfect setting for first-time leaders who want to take their girls troop camping without the responsibility of providing program, meals, or having trained/certified adults. At Camp Timbercrest, we will do it all for you. All troop leaders have to do is provide the necessary child to adult supervision ratio. You and your girls can participate in as much or as little program-ming as you choose. Core Camp will take place at Camp Timbercrest. S.P.P. Camping will take place at Camp Seven Hills/Lakeside and Camp Piper-wood.

Troop CampLeaders can bring their girls to camp for a fun-filled outdoor adventure. Whether you rent a lodge, cabin, or tent unit, the oppor-tunities that await you are endless! Vast hiking trails, a state-of-the-art splash pad, high and low ropes course, archery area, and open fields make Camp Piperwood a great setting for campers looking for a day camp experience.

The camp sessions revolve around weekly themes that include the entire camp population. Programs operate Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Campers who are entering fourth grade or higher in the fall of 2015 are also eligible to camp overnight each Wednesday night; this is a great way to start introducing girls to the resident camp experience.

Girls staying overnight on Wednesday will sleep in A-Frames. Staff will sleep, likewise, in separate tents, but very near the girls. Each tent sleeps four girls. The $6.50 fee for the overnight includes dinner and an evening snack Wednesday as well as breakfast and lunch on Thursday. Please indicate on the registration form if your daughter will stay for the overnight program. Parents/guardians, please understand that you are making the decision that your child is old enough to handle an overnight camp experience. If for some reason your child has a hard time adjusting to the overnight camping experi-ence and you receive a call from the camp director indicating your daughter’s difficulty, you will be required to pick your child up from camp — regardless of the time. To assure a smooth overnight experience for your daughter, we strongly encourage you to take the “Ready for Camp Quiz” located at gswny.org/pages/Camps.aspx.
