Dr. Alsbury is a professor of Educational Leadership

at Seattle Pacific University. His research focus is

on organizational theory, school board and

superintendent governance, and district reform.

Dr. Thomas Alsbury

Dr. Alsbury has consulted on school governance issues in 12 countries and

across the United States. He has over 50 publications on school board and

superintendent research. His book The Future of School Board Governance:

Relevance and Revelation earned Dr. Alsbury the University Council for

Educational Administration Culbertson Award for significant contributions

to educational leadership research.

Dr. Alsbury also will present a workshop, Ten Secrets for Stabilizing School

Boards to Improve District Performance.

Salome Thomas-El

Principal El’s lifelong commitment is to ensure

that all children achieve to their greatest

potential. Central to this challenge is how public

schools succeed with children who are facing the

most serious barriers to success inclusive of

poverty and inadequate expectations.

Principal El will discuss how empowered educators, parents, and

community members working together achieve success for students.

He brings to the process a powerful combination of passion, caring,

and leadership to craft a common sense roadmap for students to

achieve their dreams.
