1. This is to inform the field that the 2015 Division Araling Panlipunan Olympics shall be

The contest aims to:
a. sustain among the pupils/students awareness of the interest in the content and
issues in Araling Panlipunan;
b. promote history, geography and local history by fostering interest and active
participation of pupils in various activities; and
c. convey population concepts which are essential in making decision on family life and
responsible parenthood, poverty, adolescents, sexual and reproductive rights
3. Participants to this contest are the top one (1) winners from each district in the elementary
level while top three (3) winners in the EDDIS in the secondary level. The names of the winners and
coaches in the district / EDDIS level will be submitted to this office by delegation chair on or before
October 12, 2015.
4. The best three (3) top record holder pupils/students and their teacher-coaches will receive
certificates of recognition.

Inclosure No. 1 contains the guidelines on the conduct of the contest and Inclosure No. 2 isthe list of Work Committee and Board of Judges.
6. Sub level selections may be held on the following schedules to be managed by delegation
chair:
EDDIS I & II - October 8, 2015
EDDIS III & IV - October 9, 2015
7. All participants both the pupil/student – contestants and teacher-coaches shall pay
Php 150.00 each as registration fee to defray the cost of supplies and snacks of the participants,
board of judges and members of the work committee chargeable against the local/school fund.
8. Wide dissemination of this Memorandum is desired to ensure the cooperation of all
concerned.

Guidelines in the Conduct of Araling Panlipunan Olympics
Participants will be provided with pens and numbered-color-coded writing sheets during
the AP Olympics. The monitor will collect writing sheets after every round.
English or Filipino will be used as the official language in the conduct of the AP Olympics.
There will be a total of twenty (20) questions to be given, six (6) of which are “easy”,seven (7) are “average” and seven (7) are “difficult” questions.
Points for every correct answer will be given as follows:
One (1) point each for every “easy” question
Two (2) points each for every “average’ question
Three (3) points each for every “difficult” question.
The quizmaster will only read each question twice. Countdown will start after the
question has been read the second time.
Participants will be given a maximum of thirty (30) seconds to answer questions that
require computation and enumeration. Other questions will only be given ten (10)
seconds. Should a participant wish to change an answer that he/she has written down, this answer
should be crossed out with a horizontal line and the new answer written clearly above the
crossed out answer. A participant is allowed to change his/her answer within the time
allotted for a particular question.
A EDDIS lll record holder will be proclaimed based on the cumulative scoring system.
All ties will be broken by a tiebreaker question from the “difficult” category.
In case of protest or inquiry during the actual AP Olympics proceedings, the following
procedures will be observed:
Only the official coach of the participant is allowed to raise a protest or inquiry at the
earliest appropriate time during the AP Olympics. The protest or inquiry will be addressed orally to the Chairman of the Board of Judges
who will recognize the protest or inquiry.
The Chairman of the Board of Judges will announce the decision upon deliberation
with the members of the board of judges.
All coaches are required to submit 5 easy, 5 average, and 5 difficult questions on the
day of the competition with the correct answer and reference/source.
Color coded straw will be provided by the school host school.

1. This is to inform the field that the Search for Outstanding Teacher Implementers of Project ARAW
( A Region A Week ) will be conducted on November – December, 2013.
2. The Project aims to :
a. increase learners level of performance in Philippine geography and map reading;
b. determine the extent to which individual teachers help learners improve their
skills in map reading.
3. Guidelines and mechanics for evaluation are in Inclosure No. 1.
4. All expenses to be incurred in the Division Level incidental to this contest shall be charged against
the Provincial SEF subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
5. Wide dissemination of the contents of this Memorandum is earnestly desired.

1. The Search is opened to all grade IV teachers and Grade IV pupils
2. Teacher and pupils will be given a seventy ( 70 ) item test on the following in formations:

d) - festivals
3. Certificates of Recognition and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winning
teachers
