2015 ANNUAL REPORT

DEAR HIGH RISK HOPE FAMILY,

In January of 2015, our Board of Directors set lofty goals for fundraising and expanding our community outreach. Our employees, donors and volunteers rose to the challenge, proving a great deal can be accomplished by a passionate group in 12 months. In 2015, we increased revenue by 175%, hired two new employees, doubled our hospital partners and served 1,450 families in crisis. While these achievements are incredible, our work is nowhere near complete.

Almost 400,000 babies are born prematurely every year in the United States. Premature birth is the greatest contributor to infant death, and is a leading cause of long-term neurological disabilities, vision and hearing loss, learning and behavioral problems, cerebral palsy and lung problems. Because High Risk Hope (HRH) is the only local or national non-profit serving pregnant women on hospital bed rest and premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the demand for our services exponentially exceeds what we are currently able to provide. Every community has a responsibility to combat the premature birth epidemic that affects the life of at least one in ten newborns.

WEDU Nonprofit Of The YearHRH received the coveted 2015 WEDU Be More Unstoppable, Nonprofit Organization Of The Year Award along with a $2,500 community investment grant.

Tot TrotHRH’s third annual Tot Trot was held in November in Tampa in conjunction with World Prematurity Day. 800+ Tot Trotters and sponsors raised more than $65,000 in net proceeds!

New Team MembersHRH added two incredible team members in December. Bailey Nicholas (right) is our Fund Development and Special Events Manager, and Amelia Lee (left) is our Executive Coordinator. Bailey and Amelia have already become crucial to HRH’s operations and, you can expect great things from them both!

Give Day Tampa BayFor the second consecutive year, HRH was at the top of the Give Day Tampa Bay leaderboard, placing 5th out of 540 nonprofits spanning six counties! Thanks to an exclusive partnership with Hyde Park Village and the support of 230 donors, HRH raised $33,000.

Hospital ExpansionsHRH doubled our hospital partners in 2015! Kate DeSantis will coordinate bi-weekly deliveries at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, impacting 500 families each year. Betsy Ricketts will coordinate holiday deliveries at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, impacting 150 families each year.

HRH Baby CalendarThe second annual HRH Calendar Baby contest was a huge success! 54 babies entered and 18,585 votes were tallied to select the HRH Babies featured in this year’s calendar, which is delivered to 1,800 HRH families each year.

Paytin Hampton was born on November 8, 2014 at 28 weeks gestation at Tampa General Hospital. Prior to her birth, Paytin’s mom spent three weeks on hospital bed rest. Paytin spent two months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and came home to a thankful family on Christmas Day. HRH supported Paytin and her family during their entire hospital stay, and they have become a big part of the HRH family!
