  • Safety

    Safety is DL&PS #1 Priority

    HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL

Our commitment to safety is woven into our company’s culture and exemplified with our exceptional safety record. Our staff uses a comprehensive safety plan that meets the requirements of OSHA and pipeline operators. We have established strict safety policies and aggressive training programs to ensure that we provide our clients with safe, competent staff who are up-to-date with all Department of Transportation (DOT) Operator Qualification Rules.

Daily Tailgate Safety Meetings: On the jobsite, before the work begins, we perform daily tailgate safety meetings, where we conduct a job safety analysis (JSA) and discuss the hazards at hand. Our safety meetings are target specific and industry oriented so that our staff is fully aware of all current issues facing the industry. Frequency of safety meetings will increase as the scope changes or per customer request.

Weekly Safety Meetings: In addition to our daily jobsite meetings, we hold weekly safety meetings.

Behavior Based Safety Observations: We believe that the best way to ensure the success in any safety program is to have our staff participate in a behavior based safety observation system. By utilizing this system, it has allowed us to identify potential unsafe behaviors and near misses and focus on training in those areas.

  • Safety

    Safety is DL&PS #1 Priority

Operator Qualifications: We have OQ qualified personnel for tasks that require specific training or fall into DOT jurisdiction. DL&PS historically used third partyvendors to qualify OQs for employee but is currently in the process of becoming a NCCER certified training center so that OQs can be performed in house. We feel strongly that this will aid us is ensuring that our employees will have adequate and proper OQ training for any task.

Additional Qualifications: Many employees have current TWIC cards and some sort of Safety Council credentials. This allows us easy access into facilities that require these credentials. A great deal of site specific training is required on a case by case basis and our project managers will plan ahead to make sure access into facilities is never a problem
