Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to another exciting year of classes at STAGES Performing Arts Academy located in the beautiful Kent Center for Theatre Arts! As we enter our twelfth year of educating students of all ages and abilities in the invaluable art of musical theatre, we continue to strive to inspire curiosity, creativity, and passion through high quality instruction and performance opportunities.

This past year, the Academy saw a number of triumphs, which were a true testament to the unwavering dedication of our amazing faculty and families. We implemented a cumulative curriculum and evaluation system that allow us to track our students’ progress and address their individual needs. This process also gave us great insight into the classes and programs we now offer to better serve our students.

Our first annual Academy production of SHREK Jr. featured a cast of 38 students and sold out 5 performances. Our Outreach programs now reach a record breaking number of 4,000 students which are fostered by over 50 school and community partnerships. Our premier performance groups, Triple Threats and TeamSTAGES were featured at Ballpark Village, Mainstreet Disney, the Sheldon Concert Hall and on Great Day St. Louis. We have been able to expose our students to professional Broadway actors, directors and choreographers and will continue to do so through this year’s new Musical Theatre Workshop and Master Class Series. I am also delighted to announce that we will now offer Triple Threats TEENS as another pre-professional, performance based group.

There are amazing things happening here at the Academy, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of it. I couldn’t be more honored and humbled to work with such an extraordinary faculty and awe-inspiring group of students. Thank you for joining us for what promises to be another incredible year in performing arts education!

The group rehearses weekly and performs throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area at special events. Call the Academy to schedule an audition.

Unique within the St. Louis region, STAGES’ Access the Arts programs consist of classes, workshops, and performance opportunities that enable area youth with physical, cognitive or developmental delays to fully participate in the musical theatre arts.

Dedicated to developing participants’ skills in acting, singing, dance (and thereby the related areas of communication skills, speech, and gross motor development), Access the Arts programs feature traditional musical theatre courses adapted to meet the needs of all participants.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Mary Queen Of Peace

Our Outreach Programs bring STAGES artists into the classroom or after-school programs. Workshops and multi-week residencies are available on a variety of topics ranging from technical theatre to careers in the arts, as well as instruction in acting, dance, or Musical Theatre. In addition to providing training in a selected topic, the Outreach Programs instill in students a love for the arts and a respect for the craft of the theatre professional.

STAGES brings its educational Outreach Programs to schools and community groups. These STAGES workshops and residencies introduce underserved students to the magic of Musical Theatre and the empowering potential of an arts experience.
