A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD PRESIDENTThe 2015-2016 fiscal year was another strong one for Tampa Jewish Family Services. Listed below are some of the highlights:

• We prepared and adopted a complete revision of our Bylaws.

• We planned and implemented the second annual Fall Family & Friends Field Day, which was again very successful. We had 250 participants, and 500 pounds of food were donated for our community food bank.

• We established a new community award in memory of Sofia Maisler, aptly named the Sofia Maisler Community Leadership Award. This award will be presented at the annual Federation Leadership Award Ceremony held each fall, to an outstanding volunteer leader for our agency.

• We ramped up our psychological and educational assessments program, for both special needs and gifted children; and we’re

seeing an increasing level of interest and enrollment. The benefits to the families involved can be life-changing, and we offer rates that are affordable to all.

• We held an extremely successful Trifecta, thanks in large part to our board, advisory council and volunteers. I want to specifically recognize and thank our Trifecta co-chairs, Jan Stern and Alissa Myers, who worked tirelessly to make the event a resounding success.

• We continued to develop our relationship with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, and we started a new relationship

with the Cancer Thrivers Network for Jewish Women.

• We successfully completed the first full year of the Life & Legacy program, and achieved our goal – 18 commitments! Not only does that help secure the future of TJFS, but also meant an immediate cash payment of $6,000 to our agency. Thank you to those of you who have already committed to make a legacy gift.

• We sponsored Greater Seder again this year; the show was well received, and we made a little money besides!

• We again achieved unprecedented success where it matters most – with our clientele, helping almost 14,000 people this year – a record number.

Looking ahead to the upcoming year, we are excited about our new South Tampa offices that will open December, 2016, at the Bryan GlazerFamily JCC. Our new offices-which will supplement, not replace, our existing North Tampa offices-will help us reach out to more membersof our community, who cannot currently utilize our help primarily for geographic reasons.

All of the good work performed by our agency would not be possible without the incredible efforts of our dedicated and talented staffmembers, who work tirelessly to help those members of our community who need our assistance; to our entire staff, please know that youare appreciated for all that you do. I also want to thank our outstanding board of directors and advisory council, who are wholly committedto making TJFS a phenomenal social services agency, and to the many volunteers who work so hard for our agency. It is truly an honor towork with all of you.

Finally, I want to extend a huge thank you to all of our donors...you are the lifeblood of our organization, we could not function withoutyou. Whether you donate to our Friends' campaign, make other donations and/or attend our fundraising events, you keep our agency afloat. You truly make a difference in the lives of so many people in our community, and we appreciate it, more than we can ever say.
