A 7-Year Warranty guarantees that if anything should go wrong, under normal use, your firearm will be serviced for you by skilled gunsmiths at our national firearm service center. While your Franchi is under warranty, we will assume the cost of parts, labor and shipping required to get your firearm back to you and working perfectly.

Technology More than 60 years ago Franchi began manufacturing the long-recoil 48 AL, hailed as an innovation in shotgun technology, and the ultimate refinement of long-recoil autoloaders. The next development was in the direction of gas-operated semi-autos, and the current modernization trend includes the incorporation of the Inertia Driven® system to drive the latest generation of Franchi semi-automatic shotguns. The Franchi semi-autos remain the choice of many discerning wingshooters for their lightning-fast handling qualities and superior “feel.”

Franchi shotguns are quality firearms that meet today’s demanding standards without compromising the original ideas and concepts that make Franchi firearms unique. Combining cutting-edge modern manufacturing methods and technology with Old-World gun craftsmanship, has enabled Franchi to create sets of shotguns that are amazingly simple, yet absolutely reliable. With modern metallurgy and technology and their distinct lightweight styling, Franchi's 48 AL, Instinct over & unders and the Inertia Driven® Affinity are testament to that fact.

Step 1 CHAMBERING As the bolt assembly moves into battery, the locking head pin moves along a curved track in the bolt body to rotate the steel bolt head into engagement with the steel barrel extension.

Step 3 RECOIL Near the end of the recoil cycle the chamber drops to a safe level and the gun’s rearward motion slows. The heavy inertia spring then thrusts the bolt assembly rearward, unlocking the rotating head, pulling the spent shell from the chamber and recocking the hammer.

Step 4 EJECTION As the bolt assembly continues to the rear it compresses the recoil spring on the magazine tube and pulls the spent shell against the ejector. After the empty shell exits the receiver the recoil spring then thrusts the bolt assembly forward, lifting the next shell into position and pushing it into the chamber. The gun is ready to fire again…in a fraction of a second!

Step 2 FIRING When the gun fires every part of the shotgun except the bolt body moves rearward. The curved track in the bolt body, which is moving forward relative to the rest of the gun, presses against the locking head pin, turning the bolt head even tighter into the barrel extension. A shell is allowed to exit from the magazine.

The Intensity’s ultra-reliable Inertia-Driven® system, features a bolt assembly with a rotating bolt head that ensures a positive steel-to-steel lock-up.The Intensity is a 3½-inch 12-gauge powerhouse, featuring the versatile Inertia Driven® system.

It embodies the feel of a smaller gauge gun with a slim attractive profile, possible because the recoil spring encircles the magazine tube located forward of the receiver. Further slimming is accomplished by trimming down the dimensions of the durable polymer stock, which also includes a removable balance weight fitted in the buttstock for adjustable weight distribution and balance.

The Intensity is available in four finishes and comes with either a 26-, 28- or 30-inch barrel that sports a stepped, ventilated-rib with a red fiber-optic front sight. Three choke tubes are supplied with the Intensity, including IC, M, and F (choke wrench included). Shouldering and aiming the Intensity is like pointing your finger—you will instantly know what “right” feels like.

Four recessed dovetail slots are machined into the standard Intensity receiver to facilitate quick and easy mounting of optics and accessories.

The Intensity features a 31⁄2-inch chamber, designed to handle the heaviest 31⁄2-inch magnum loads for waterfowl and turkey, down to 23⁄4-inch, 11⁄8 ounce target loads.

The Intensity’s dependable trigger group is easily removed for cleaning and maintenance by punching out a single pin.

Franchi’s Affinity Compact is a short-stock, 24-inch or 26-inch version of the full-size Affinity. The buttstock offers a 123/8-inch length-of-pull, to which, spacers can be added. As a young shooter grows, so grows the gun. When appropriate, a full-size buttstock can be fitted to the Affinity Compact.

The Affinity’s dependable trigger group is easily removed for cleaning and maintenance by punching out a single pin.

The Affinity Compact comes standard with four ¼-inch spacers that allow the length-of-pull to be adjusted from 123/8" to 133/8" in quarter-inch increments.

Franchi’s Instinct SL over & under is a modern classic that combines the best of Italian tradition and craftsmanship with the latest innovative technology for the right look—the right feel. Available in both 12- and 20- gauges, the Instinct SL features an attractive polished aluminum alloy receiver and is available with either 26- or 28-inch barrels that are fitted with a red fiber-optic front sight for quick and positive target acquisition.

The Instinct SL stock, cut from fine AA-grade walnut in the classic Prince of Wales style, features cut-checkering and sports a lustrous oil-finish. The lightweight alloy receiver houses a distinctive trigger and trigger guard displaying the gold-inlaid Franchi logo.

The Instinct SL receiver is fitted with automatic ejectors and features a locking bolt that emerges from the bottom of the standing breech to engage a recess machined into the barrel monobloc.

The Instinct L features an all-steel, extra-strong color-case receiver with the name “Instinct L” engraved in gold on the right side. The distinctive receiver includes a tang-mounted automatic safety that also acts as a barrel selector. An attractive gold-plated trigger completes the Instinct L's stylish look. The Prince of Wales style stock is cut from A-Grade satin walnut and features cut checkering on the slim forend and pistol grip. A traditional satin oil-finish complements the wood’s beautiful grain and protects the stock from the elements of weather.

The Instinct L receiver is color case-hardened for strength and an attractive look. The trigger guard displays a gold-inlaid Franchi logo.

The standard set of three screw-in tubes, improved cylinder, modified and full, will handle most hunting situations. Optional cylinder or improved modified tubes are also available.

A recoiling barrel is the sure sign of a long-recoil autoloader design. On firing, bolt and barrel travel rearward together. As pressure inside the barrel drops, they unlock and the barrel returns forward under spring pressure. The bolt follows, picking up a fresh shell on its way. When it returns to battery, another shot can be fired immediately.

The Fenice features a gold-plated trigger and a cross-bolt safety positioned at the rear of the trigger guard.

Flanked by line-engraved scrollwork, gold embellished partridges break cover from the margin of an upland meadow on the left face of the 28-gauge Fenice’s nickel-plated, lightweight alloy receiver. On the other side, two diving ducks rise from a pond while a coot stands concealed in sheltering cattails.

On the left hand receiver of the 20-gauge Fenice, line-engraved scrollwork accents a flight of gold embellished snipe rising above a flooded field. A finely detailed covey of partridges take to the air across a meadow on the right receiver face.
