Annual Report to High SchoolsWisconsin Statute 38.12(8)(a),(c).

Report to K-12 District Boards of Education

1

Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) is committed to partnering

with local K-12 districts in an effort to prepare the youth of Waukesha

County for higher education and satisfying successful careers. This report

reflects district partnership activities and data that highlights student

enrollments for the 2015-16 school year.

WCTC, with our partnering districts and their high schools, offers a wealth

of activities that allow students to engage in and explore a variety of career

options. These activities promote a seamless educational journey – or

career pathway – that helps students transition easily from one educational institution to another,

and prepares them for success in an ever-changing world of work. Career pathways are the core of

workforce and economic development in our state.

Teachers, counselors and staff from each school district in Waukesha County work in collaboration

with WCTC staff to continuously strengthen our partnership programs. This vision and direct

collaboration benefits not only our students, but our local schools and communities. WCTC is proud

of the more than 11,500 transcripted credits earned by area high school students in 2015-16, which

puts our region a step ahead as we prepare the next generation of workers who will contribute to our

economy and ensure a better future.

I am pleased to present this report to our Waukesha County citizens and look forward to continuing

these successful educational partnerships in the communities we serve.

Reporting RequirementsAs required by Wisconsin state statute 118.34(2)(a), the president of WCTC is required to appoint technical preparation council members. The Council met in January 2015 and April 2015. The information in this report fulfills the required annual report to local boards by the Council on achievements of the Waukesha County Career Prep Consortium.
