THE PAC-12 VERSUS...

#100Pac12: The Pac-12 Conference is set to celebrate 100 years of excellence. The yearlong celebration of the Conference centennial, including marking the date of the ofcial formation 100 years ago on December 2, will kick off with the start of the football season and continue throughout the 2015-16 academic year. The Conference’s storied history dates back 100 years to Dec. 2, 1915 when four schools - the University of California, Oregon Agricultural College (now Oregon State University), the University of Oregon and the University of Washington - gathered at the historic Imperial Hotel in Portland, Ore., to form the Pacic Coast Conference. Since that day, the Conference has been known for its widespread excellence – on the eld, in the classroom, and with the contributions its graduates make in the world. No other Conference can match the collective achievements and distinctions accomplished over the last century. The Conference has been home to some of sports’ legendary athletes and coaches. Dubbed the “Conference of Champions,” Pac-12 schools have won 478 NCAA titles, by far more than any other conference, as well as over 2,000 individual national championships.

PAC-12 CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

16 Number of NCAA Championships won by Pac-12 programs, tied with the ACC for the most by any collegiate conference in the country.

7 Number of NIT Championships won by Pac-12 programs, as well as two CBI titles.

23 Combined NCAA and NIT Champion-ships won by Pac-12 programs, tied with the ACC for the most by any collegiate conference in the country.

3 NCAA Division I national championships won by Pac-12 coaches as players (Hurley 1991, 1992; Alford 1987). In total, current Pac-12 coaches played in 30 postseasons (20 NCAAs, 10 NITs), including eight trips to the Sweet 16 and ve national title games.

PAC-12 TOURNAMENTSTRUCTURE-SEEDING & TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURES

Seeding: The seedings and pairings shall be determined upon completion of regular season play on Saturday, March 5. The won-lost percentage record of the teams in regular season Conference play will determine tournament seedings. The team with the best won-lost percentage in Conference play will be seeded #1, the next best won-lost percentage in Conference play will be seeded #2, and so forth through all the seeds.

Each team’s record (won-lost percentage) vs. the team occupying the highest position in the nal regular standings, and then continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage. When arriving at another group of tied teams while comparing records, use each team’s record (won-lost percentage) against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to that group’s own tie-breaking procedure), rather than the performance against individual tied teams.c.
