High UV resistance, durability
and thermostability
High water resistanceLow vapour resistance
SOLITEX®
Cover fleece
The robust polypropylene microfibre cover fleece is water - resistant and
provides optimum protection against water penetration. It protects the
specialist TEEE-film underneath from damage and UV radiation.
The honeycomb structure provides non-slip properties even when wet.
It is coloured blue to prevent dazzling effect when it is installed.
TEEE-film open, specialist
A stretchable, diffusion-open specialist TEEE-film gives the pro clima
SOLITEX membranes extremely high resistance to water penetration. At
the same time, it allows the water vapour from the inside to pass almost
unrestricted towards the outside.
In addition, the specific properties of the specialist TEEE-film ensure the
excellent wind resistance properties of the pro clima SOLITEX membranes.
Reinforcement material
The tightly meshed PP reinforcement material doubles the overall
strength of the SOLITEX MENTO PLUS membrane. The material is
highly effective at preventing the membrane being penetrated
through accidental treading or nail tearing.
No tent effect
The fact that the pro clima SOLITEX membranes are multi-layered
prevents the tent effect (tent canvases leak at points of contact).
The pro clima SOLITEX membranes can be supported across the whole
surface.
High water resistance - Three layer nonporous diffusion-open polypropylene membrane
High UV resistance - Up to 90 days exposure in Australia
Low vapour resistance - TEEE film for active moisture transport from the inside to the outside
High thermostability - Melting point of the membrane is 200 °C
High durability under all conditions - Membrane as used for vehicle airbags
High rip and nail tear resistance - Durable in high wind zones
High-performance roof and wall sarking

Mark at 1.47 m
Mark the studs using a vivid marker and rigid measure at a distance of 1.47 m from the floor to indicate where the upper edge of the INTELLO® is to be aligned.
1.48 m 1.48 m 1.48 m
1
Stapling
Staple along the entire upper edge of the INTELLO® (1) to every stud first, then on a middle stud (2) run a hand down toward the floor to tighten the INTELLO® and ensure there is a 30 mm return for fixing to floor – apply the first staples from the bottom. Leave a max. distance of 100 - 150 mm between each staple.
23 4
1
100 mm max.
100 mm max.3
Overlap the membranes
Using the printed markings as a guide, overlap the upper sheet by approx. 150 mm and staple both sheets along the entire length first. As before in 3 – on the middle stud tighten the membrane upwards and staple. Ensure junctions between walls and ceilings are “relaxed”. Avoid joining INTELLO® membranes in corners.
150 mm
4
Tape the overlaps
Tape the INTELLO® with TESCON VANA adhesive tape so that it is free of any tension or stress. Position the tape centrally and press firmly to secure using the PRESSFIX. Cut a slit in any folds in the overlapping part of the membrane and re-tape.
5m
Wall and ceiling
Lay the INTELLO® so that it completely covers the walls and ceiling and tape it with TESCON VANA, ensuring that you form an airtight seal.
6
Floor joint
Apply ORCON joint adhesive, forming a continuous bead approx. 5 mm thick on the floor board and lay the membrane in the adhesive bed, leaving an expansion joint. Do not press the adhesive completely flat. Note for all adhesive bonds: The substrate onto which the adhesive isapplied must be load bearing, dry, smooth and free of dust, silicon and grease.
7
Installation box
Cut a hole in the INTELLO® that is the same size as the INSTAABOX. Make the required number of holes in the INSTAABOX and feed the cable through these holes, then align the INSTAABOX and tape it to the INTELLO® with TESCON VANA, ensuring that you form an airtight seal.
8
30 mm
Unroll INTELLO® for the entire wall section allowing sufficient material for “relaxed” corners, returns ontointersecting wall studs and fixing to joinery. Preferably cut wall sections after stapling main sections of INTELLO®. Important: The writing on the INTELLO® should face into the room.

Airtightness is measurable!
Quality control with pro clima WINCON and Minneapolis Blower Door
WINCON - verification of installation
Verification of the installation of the Intelligent Airtightness System (IAS) is undertaken by using the pro clima WINCON. The simple and easy WINCON test allows air leakage to be identified by depressurising the building.
Blower Door - measuring building performance
A Blower Door is a diagnostic tool which helps locate air leakage within the building envelope. Measurements are performed in pressurised or depressurised buildings, where climatic or other external influences are minimized due to the high pressure difference created by the fan. This allows for a reliable measurement of infiltration rates.

Subject to the following conditions and limitations:
Design Conditions:
Product specification and incorporation of the Solitex Extasana Wall Underlay into the building design shall be carried out by a
designer / architect / engineer or a building professional who:
Is qualified to design the buildings covered under the ‘Scope’ of use of this product.

Design Information
Timber and Steel Framing
1. Studs must be provided at maximum 600 mm centres. Dwangs must be fitted flush between the studs at maximum 1200 mm
centres.
General
2. Solitex Extasana Wall Underlay is intended for use as an alternative to conventional building papers which are fixed over
timber or steel framed walls in order to limit the entry of wind into building cavities, and to act as a secondary barrier to wind-
driven rain.
3. The material also provides a degree of temporary weather protection during early construction. However, the product will not
make the building weathertight and some wetting of the underlying structure is always possible before the building is closed
in. Hence, the building must be closed-in and made weatherproof before moisture sensitive materials such as wall or ceiling
linings and insulation materials are installed.
4. Solitex Extasana Wall Underlay must not be exposed to the weather or ultra violet light for a total of more than 60 days
before being covered by the wall cladding.
5. Solitex Extasana Wall Underlay is suitable for use under wall claddings as a wall underlay as called up in NZBC Acceptable
Solution E2/AS1 (AMENDMENT 5 - AUGUST 2011 AND ERRATA 2 DECEMBER 2011 ), Table 23 on timber framed
buildings. Solitex Extasana Wall Underlay is suitable for use under cavity based wall claddings as an absorbent synthetic
wall underlay as called up in NZS 2295:2006, Table 2.4 on steel framed buildings. Refer to Table 1.
6. In cavity installations where the cavity battens are installed at greater than 450 mm centres, the wall underlay must be
supported between the battens to prevent the underlay bulging into the cavity space when bulk insulation is installed in the wall
frame cavity in accordance with the requirements of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 (AMENDMENT 5 - AUGUST 2011 AND
ERRATA 2 DECEMBER 2011), Paragraph 9.1.8.5.
Structure
7. Solitex Extasana Wall Underlay is suitable for use in all Wind Zones of NZS 3604:2011 up to, and including, ‘Very High’ when
used as a stand-alone flexible wall underlay, and all Wind Zones of NZS 3604:2011 up to, and including, ‘Extra High’ when used
as an overlay for rigid wall underlays.
Durability
8. Solitex Extasana Wall Underlay meets code compliance with NZBC Clause B2.3.1 (a), not less than 50 years for wall underlays
used where the cladding durability requirement or expected serviceable life is not less than 50 years, e.g. behind masonry veneer,
