REFLECTION
Dear God
Thank you for giving us such good gifts. For our families who love us. For yummy food and tasty drink. For so many different beautiful animals. For parks with tall trees and soft grass. For birds that fly among the clouds. For seas and streams that are fun to paddle in. And thank you for your son Jesus. We like to read about him in the bible. He taught his disciples about you. He healed people who were sick. He walked on water, And even died and came back to life. Help us to remember all the things he did And celebrate him on Easter Sunday.
Amen.
PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Hello to the families of All Saints’ Community, The end of the Term has all but arrived, only one day to go. The Term is ending the way it began, with rain falling from the sky. I hope and pray that everyone has a restful, peaceful and safe Easter break. Especially for those who will be travelling – take care! School Swimming Carnival: Thursday April 2 At this stage NO decision has been made regarding the School Swimming Carnival which is scheduled for tomorrow. If the event is to be cancelled there are 2 ways in which we send out the message: 1) via a school SMS message that will be send to mobile numbers and 2) the new school electronic sign positioned at the front of the school. Students may wear a collared shirt matching their sports house team or they may wear their school sports uniform. It is anticipated that the first race will begin at 9:40am and that we will be back at school for trophy presentation at a school assembly by 2:30pm. Go Blue for Autism – fundraising event: Thank you to everyone who ‘dressed’ for the part and supported our endeavours to raise money for Autism
Queensland. Below are some of the outfits that greeted us today:
Easter Reflection: Thank you to Year 5 for leading the school in our Easter Reflection. As a Catholic Christian School, this is a very important part of our school life – taking the time to reflect together on the message, life and example that Jesus shared with his community. Jesus’ message has been handed on to us today in so many different ways. Car Parking: Please be aware that the 2 minute parking at the front to the school is only for 2 minutes. No parent/guardian should be parking their car in this spot and then walking into the school to collect their child(ren). Parking longer than 2 minutes can be an inconvenience to others. Links with the Parish While the Easter long weekend break is a wonderful time to stop, pause and catch-up with family, it is also an opportunity to make time to spend with God. One of the ways in which this can take place is by attending the many celebrations that happen in Church over the Easter weekend. Below are the times for the Catholic Church Easter celebrations: Easter Liturgy Times:
Thursday April 2: Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper – 7:00pm, Boonah
Good Friday April 3: Stations of the Cross – 10:00am, Peak Crossing
Good Friday April 3: Celebration of the Passion of the Lord – 3:00pm, Boonah
Saturday April 4: Easter Vigil – 7:00pm, Boonah
Sunday April 5: Easter Sunday – 7:30am, Harrisville, 9:30am, Boonah

Assembly
This week’s assembly was a short one for awards and
messages.
Holy Week Liturgy
Today, the Year 5’s led an Easter liturgy focusing on the
brave friends who helped Jesus on His final journey to
Golgotha. It reminds us that we too are called to be
friends of Jesus and to stand up for others who are in
despair and in need of assistance.
Reconciliation Preparation – Year 3 and Above
Lessons for the Rite of Reconciliation begin in Week 2
of Term 2 – Tuesday 28 April at 6pm.
Please remember to bring a copy of the Baptismal

P&F NEWS
Happy Easter The P&F would like to wish all our families a safe and happy Easter and school holidays. We hope you get time to recharge the batteries and enjoy time with family and friends. If you are travelling, stay safe. The first school term has flown by and we suspect Term 2 will be the same. Coming up in Term 2 for the P&F we have the Mothers’ Day stall, our first working bee and a potential movie night. Stay tuned for more information on these. Our next meeting will be the first week back on the 22nd April at 7pm in the school library. All are welcome. Some of the items discussed at our last meeting were:
Mothers’ Day stall – coordination and volunteers.
Working Bee – date set for 2nd May, stay tuned for details of the help needed.
Boonah Show Gates – this year we will offer this as a fundraising opportunity for parents of students in Years 4 and 5 to bring down the cost of the Canberra trip in 2016.
If you have any P&F matters you would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to send Andrew Conway an email. Thank you. Andrew Conway P&F President [email protected]
GUIDANCE NEWS
123 Magic and Emotion
Coaching Program©
at All Saints’
Learn how to manage your child’s challenging
behaviours
Almost all children will behave in ways that challenge
their parents at some time. This could be for a range
of reasons but all children benefit from clear, calm
and consistent behaviour support from parents. That
can be difficult sometimes as they do push our
buttons, don’t they? But this is made easier by sorting
behaviour into types and knowing what strategies to
use with each type of behaviour, even when we are in
the heat of the moment.
If you would like to learn how to do this, come and be
part of the 123 Magic© and Emotion Coaching
program I am running next term. This program shows
parents how to combine positive praise or rewards,
with signalling, age appropriate consequences and
emotion coaching, all of which help children to learn
to regulate their own behaviour reducing the need for
you to intervene as often in the future. 123 Magic©
has been praised by parents for its simplicity but
effectiveness. SAVE THESE DATES !
The program will run for 1 ½ hours on Wednesday
afternoons in Week 3, 4 and 5 in Term 2 (that’s the
6th, 13th and 20th May). It will be after school – time
to be confirmed. The cost will be $10 to cover the
cost of the take-home workbook (1 book per couple –
it would be great if both parents can attend!). If you
would like more information contact me at the school
on Wednesdays or ask at the school office.
