Product Introduction : Key Benefits.
The new Samsung washing machines Super Speed feature significantly reduces laundry times.* The big drum means clothes can be tumbled and agitated more effectively, while Speed Spray technology shoots cleansing jets of water at them, so they get clean faster. Rinsing jets then shower them with clean water. Its VRT Plus system also ensures that the drum is balanced well, so spinning times are reduced.
Super Speed
* Normal one-hour wash can now be completed in as little as 30 minutes as compared to WF511 washer without SpeedSpray. * * Tested on WA56H9100AG model. Compared with Samsung conventional model WF405

Product Introduction : Key Benefits.
Self Clean+ For the ultimate in convenience, the new Samsung washing machines SelfClean+ technology keeps the drum, and also the gasket, clean. It can make inside of the machine clean and get rid of accumulated dirt from the door gasket, without using harsh chemicals, so it saves money. And it can even notify you automatically when it needs cleaning after every 40 cycles.
Keep mold & bacteria away from your washer with Self Clean+

Sanitize When you select the sanitize cycle the
water heats to an extra high temperature, which removes 99.9% of certain bacteria.
Eco Plus If you select this option, the water temperature is set lower than the normal wash temp
to save energy Pure Cycle This feature is designed to remove deterge
nt residue and dirt buildup in the tub. Smart Care This is an automatic error monitoring system, detects and diagnose problems at an early stage. Use the cell phone to read encry
pted codes on your machine.
Pre Soak Use when laundry is stained , this function improves the wash performance by adding a pre soak cycle. The total cycle time will in
crease 15mins - When this pre soak is complete the wash
cycle starts without draining the water
Garment + Lets you add or remove laundry even after the wash has started as long as the garment + light is on. Pressing Pause will unlock t
he door unless its too hot..
My Cycle This feature is like a favorites, it allows you to save custom cycles to use at a later date
Self Clean This cycle should be used with out clothing
, its used to clean the drum.

On top load washers the inner basket has built into the top ring, two water filled chambers. They are half filled, shown on the left in red, with a saline solution to help avoid freezing. As the basket starts to spin the water moves into a vertical wall position, shown in red on the right, creating a centripetal force control. The inner basket is made of two water filled chambers. They are half way filled. The image on the left shows in red a saline solution to help avoid freezing. When the basket starts spinning the water moves into a vertical wall position. ALWAYS USE HE Detergents When using the proper amount of detergent in soft water with clean
clothes, it is possible to get over-sudsing. Unless clothing is dirty, in soft water use or less of the recommended
detergent. May extend Spin Cycle
Water level sensor is pressure activated by suds Machine will go into rinse and spin to get rid of suds An ND (no drain) error will be generated eventually

Individual valve operation may be tested in Quick Test mode (see Fast-Track) while in Test mode turn on the valves and measure 120VAC at each valve.
Voltage comes from relays on Main PCB
Resistance should be approx. 1.20 k 1.25k
Check for valves that are stuck ON (Quick Test mode)
Valves may be interchanged for troubleshooting

Water Valves 1 Hot & 1 - 4 Way Cold Water Valve Solenoids = ~1.2 K
The water valves are a complete assembly. This means that if one valve goes bad, the entire valve cluster is replaced as one assembly. You can enter the Quick Test Mode and turn on the water valves, after doing so test each valve for 120V. If a valve measures 120V the valve is good. If no voltage is found replace the complete assembly. Test in Quick TEST Mode.

A good way to check components / harness connections is at the main board. With the power on. If the component is open or the wire harness is bad the reading at the board should give you 120V. If the component is good you should not get the 120V.

Motor Windings = ~20 You can also test the Circulation pump function in quick test mode
Testing Components Circulation Pump
PresenterPresentation NotesThe circulation pump takes the water from the sump and pumps it to the top of the tub where it is then dumped back into the tub with the remaining water. Since the clothes are not disturbed as they were in older top load washers, this is done to make sure all the clothing at the time gets clean.
-
Check Motor Windings
Motor Windings = ~14 You can also test the drain pump function in quick test mode
Depending on the model, the drain pump location and design may vary. The 2013 and 2014 models have the drain pump mounted to the chassis.
Testing Components Drain Pump
PresenterPresentation NotesThere is no clean out on the drain pump, only a check valve. The pump is located in the rear of the machine.
You can also test the drain pump function in quick test modeDepending on the model the drain pump location and design may vary, but 2013 and 2014 have it mounted on to the chassis.

Its recommended you run all component checks while displaying the water level frequency.
Check the water level frequency If reading is off try draining all water and blowing into the water level hose.
Test Mode Water Level Frequency
PresenterPresentation NotesIts recommended you run all component checks while displaying the water level frequency. If the Jog dial is turned to Colors and Darks the water level frequency will be displayed as 3 digits. On some models this may be a 4 digit or even a 2 digit reading. 255 or 254 means you have an empty unit with no water. If you press the temp key, the water will start to fill the tub and the number should start dropping if working correctly. Once you stop the water and it stops dripping the number should become steady. If the number continues to move and give invalid readings there may be an issue with the hose or sensor. Try to drain the machine and blow into the hose of the sensor, enter test mode again and confirm correct operation.

DRYER
47
PresenterPresentation NotesThis Module will cover Dryers and prepare you for the 2014 laundry exam.
-
Things to know - Sensor Dry / Time Dry
Sensor Bars
PresenterPresentation NotesThe sensor dry area will be marked on every machine. When using sensor dry the sensor bars in the front of the dryer will detect the dryness of clothing. If a small load is being dried and wet clothing is not touching the sensor bars the machine will recalculate the remaining time left and speed up or stop the drying process. When drying smaller loads choose time dry. Time dry will not use the sensor bars as a reference point when drying clothing. Instead it will dry for the amount of time you select.
-
Models with wrinkle prevent option may create some confusion for the customer. After the unit stops drying it will continue to spin/stop this is normal to prevent clothing from wrinkling the unit will continue to spin and stop for a while. The customer may complain about the unit not stopping or spinning for no reason (Please explain to the customer and check this option)

PresenterPresentation NotesHere you will notice your Gas valve that will release gas to start a flame. Measure resistance of the pins to determine if you have a good Valve or defective valve
If you come across a noisy gas valve its recommend you replace it instead of trying to repair the valve. If repaired you might encounter a future issue.

PresenterPresentation NotesService bulletin number ASC20131127001 for model WA400, WA422, WA456 explains about the changes of the location of the drain pump. The drain pump was coming loose or leaking from the bottom so a revision was made.
Find the serial number of the production dates in the table and check on the washing machine for the version number. The improved models are Version 01. If the production date is on or before December 9th 2012 version 00, order Assembly Packing and Pump SVC Kit. If the production date is after December 9th 2012, or the washer label displays the 01 version change the drain pump location.
