• All beaches open June 21st to September 1st. Centre Island, Philip B. Healey, Theodore Roosevelt Memorial and Tobay Beaches are open weekends and holidays only between May 24th and June 15th. Residents can purchase seasonal parking stickers or pay a daily parking fee. • A seasonal sticker can be obtained at the beach upon initial entry and is valid at all Town beach facilities.Non-residents, admitted at select beaches, pay a daily parking fee (Seniors 60 and older who have a Beach Identification Card, available at the Town Clerk’s Office for a one-time fee of $30, plus a $2 photo fee, receive a free beach pass).

TOBAY BeachCome spend the day at Tobay Beach where a “day at the beach” can be so much more! Along with sunning and swimming in the ocean waves or calm bay, Tobay also features a 9-hole miniature golf course, a fun Spray Park and playgrounds. Take a walk along the marina or just take some time to reflect at the Town of Oyster Bay’s beautiful 9/11 Memorial. Relax and dine waterfront at one of the two bayside restaurants, including the Seafood Shack and the Salsa Shack. If you just want a quick refreshment to go, the marina and oceanside concession stands will satisfy your every craving! With so much to offer, there is something for everyone at Tobay!

TOBAY Mini-GolfThe Town’s 9-hole miniature golf course covers a 7,500 square foot area along the bayside of Tobay Beach. This fun and challenging course with a nautical theme is illuminated and fully ADA accessible. It’s a terrific way for families to spend some time participating in an activity that is fun for everyone!

The Tobay Spray Park has become one of the most popular summer attractions in the Town of Oyster Bay. Children of all ages and abilities love playing in this exciting world of sprayers, water cannons and spray circles. And for those who choose to stay dry, the adjacent playground with suspension bridge offers just as much fun. The spray park will be open weekends and holidays only from May 24th through June 15th and seven days a week from June 21st through September 1st from 10am to 4pm (or longer as daylight and weather permit). Visitors must have seasonal beach permit sticker or pay the daily entrance fee to access the spray park and playground.

GUEST POLICYA Community Park Pool member may bring a guest, who must pay appropriate daily fee based on his/her age. Pool member must be present in order for guest to enter.

NANNY MEMBERSHIP Nanny Individual.................$125*Note: Individual must provide a written statement from an adult family pass member holder that he/she provides day care for child member(s) of the family, either in the pass holder’s home or the nanny’s home.

Swimming LessonsThe Town offers swimming lessons to pool members age 5 and older. Administration fee is $50 per swimmer for the first session and $25 per swimmer for each additional session. Upon becoming a member of the pool, you may obtain an application to register for swimming lessons at the facility. Completed application must be submitted by mail only. Classes are 45 minutes long and are held weekday mornings, on the hour, between 9 a.m. and noon. Each session lasts two weeks.

Swim Lesson Sessions:Session 1: June 30th to July 11th(Session 1 Postmark Deadline is June 23rd)

Session 2: July 14th to July 25th(Session 2 Postmark Deadline is July 7th)

Session 3: July 28th to August 8th(Session 3 Postmark Deadline is July 21st)

Town of Oyster Bay Community Park Pools,located at Bethpage, Marjorie R. Post (Massapequa), Plainview-Old Bethpage and Syosset-Woodbury Community Parks, are open to Town residents June 28th through September 1st. Memberships may be obtained at each location beginning May 24th. A copy of your tax bill with section, block and lot number is required. Birth certificate required for children 16 years of age and under.

Facilities restricted to resident boat owners or lessee of boats who submit proof of ownership and residency to the Parks Department Beaches office, located at Town Hall South, 977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa, during normal business hours. Boat basin is open 24 hours a day from Saturday, May 10th, through Sunday, September 14th, and each Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday during the month of October (except during the Boat Show).

Multi-Sports Camp Youngsters can experience sports from around the world in one week with this summer camp dedicated to the truly sports-minded youngster. Camp offered in cooperation with the US Sports Institute.

Mad Science Summer CampA week-long Science Camp for Town of Oyster Bay residents in grades K through 6. This program will be held in July and August at Ellsworth W. Allen Town Park in Farmingdale and Haypath Park in Old Bethpage. Sports & Science Camps for Youth

Half Day Camp (ages 5-7) This camp offers young participants the opportunity to experience more than 10 sports in one week. Campers will receive technical instruction in each sport and will then experience the sport in a realistic game situation. After lunch, all campers will participate in Olympic Games and World Cup.

Full Day Camp (ages 7-14) This camp offers participants the chance to experience many extra sports and daily sports challenges in addition to the entire sports lineup of the half day camp. This is the true sports camp experience with so much to do in so little time.

Applications available at Town parks. Winners from individual parks participate in finals at Ellsworth W. Allen Town Park. Check with your park recreation leader for more information.

RegistrationMail-in registration. Registration applications and information can be obtained by calling 797-4125. Completed applications need to be returned with proof of Town residency (tax bill, utility bill, etc.), copy of child(ren)’s birth certificate, check or money order (no cash). Children must already be four-years-old at the time of entrance into the program. The fee is $275 for one child, and $100 for each additional child within a family. The deadline for mail-in registration is June 20th. Registration will continue at the individual parks starting the afternoon of July 8th, if space is still available.

Schedule 9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. to 3 p.m. No supervision is provided between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Children must be picked up.

Music Under The StarsThe Town of Oyster Bay’s renowned Music Under the Stars summer concert series will kick off on July 8th at Town parks and beaches. The program, which runs through August 16th, features musical performances by various acts, including pop, country, rock and more ... there is always something for everyone. This year’s series will again include the ever-popular Salute to America and the Children’s Festival and Safety Day. For information on the Music Under the Stars summer concert series, visit the Town’s Web site, www.oysterbaytown.com. Residents will also receive their Music Under the Stars guide in June with additional information on performers, dates, times and locations.

The Annual 9-11 Memorial Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, at 7:00 p.m. at Tobay Beach (bayside).The Town will sponsor the Annual Family Fall & Halloween Festivals which are scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 11th, at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park in Woodbury and Saturday, October 25th, at Marjorie R. Post Community Park in Massapequa from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Both events are free and held rain or shine. There will be bouncies, games, a hayride, apple cider and popcorn for youngsters and adults. Children can explore the “U-Pick” pumpkin patch and pick out their own pumpkins, which they can later decorate. Children are also welcome to wear costumes. CAPA Workshops are held in the fall and spring each year and offer a wide variety of cultural, artistic and self-improvement courses for children and adults at nominal costs. CAPA continues to offer workshops designed for “Children and Their Caregiver.” The workshops are held at community centers throughout the Town. Upcoming Events The Cultural and Performing Arts Division (CAPA) of the Department of Community & Youth Services successfully provides a full range of cultural and social enrichment programs for residents of all ages and interests. The Distinguished Artists Concerts, Music Under the Stars, Children’s Magical Music and More and Children’s Summer Magical Music and More offer free musical and entertainment programs for general audiences throughout the year. Performances are held at participating libraries and during the summer, at community parks and beaches. For additional information and program brochures, call CAPA at 797-7925. There is also a Rotational Art Exhibit Program showcasing local artists and crafts people. In December of each year, the Town’s Annual Holiday Concert is presented for three evenings and one matinee performance at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post. Activities Specialists are professionals whohavebeenapprovedbyCivilService,with aminimumofabachelor’sdegreeandapproximatelyone year of paid experiencewith developmentallydisabledpersons.RecreationAidesaremostoftenhigh school or college studentswhoare pursuingcareersinthehumanservicefields. Senior Summer Recreation ProgramThe Senior Summer Recreation Program is open to all Town Residents age 60 and older. This year, the program begins on Monday, July 7th and continues through Friday, August 29th.

Once again, the program will be held at Marjorie R. Post Community Park, Glen Head Community Center and Syosset-Woodbury Community Park. Aquatic classes will meet at Bethpage and Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Parks. On Tuesdays, at Marjorie R. Post Park, the day will be filled with tai chi, beginners line dancing, exercise and aquatic classes. On Wednesdays, the program will be held at the Glen Head Community Center with free bus transportation provided to all Town seniors from various Community Centers and Community Parks. Here you can enjoy music, dancing, crafts, bingo and special entertainment or take a ride to Tappen Beach for a day at the pool or beach. On Thursdays, the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center will feature line dancing, exercise and aquatic exercise. Watch for a flyer with a listing of all activities and times.

Beginners BridgeBeginners bridge lessons will be offered on Monday and Friday mornings at the North Massapequa Community Center. For information call 797-7916.
