ENGINEER TRAINING GRANT PROGRAM Funding for On-the-Job Training (OJT) for degreed Engineers
Unemployed—Experienced or Recent Graduates
PROGRAM PUPOSE:
PROGRAM SPECIFICS:
ARE YOU AN ELIGIBLE?
This grant allows employers the flexibility to hire engineers who meet education prerequisites,
but lack certain specialized skills and experience necessary for certain job opportunities.
Do you currently have NO laid-off engineers in the United states?
Are willing to hire and retain Kansans or people moving to Kansas for your positions?
Will you pay a wage at or above the average starting wage for your particular engineering discipline?
PARTICIPANTS
Employer reimbursed for a significant portion of training costs
Participants are hired as full-time employees and will earn wages during training
OJT funding is based on individual training plans resulting from assessments, experience/work
history and position requirements Training takes place at the work site and is directed
by the employer
Once training is finished, the participant remains employed with the employer
EMPLOYERS
Are you a female, a minority, a veteran, long-term unemployed, a dislocated Engineer?
Willing to complete an eligibility-for-training determination at your local Workforce Center before getting hired?
Do you have a Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering from an accredited university?
Are you eligible to work in the United States and registered with selective service?
Are you currently unemployed?
