There are currenly 46 schools across Nebraska active in providing curriculum for their students with interests in our industry, and as chairperson of the Nebraska Restaurant Association Hospitality Educational Foundation, I would like to invite you to participate in the strategic efforts for the not-for-profit foundation.

The foundation administers the industry’s largest career assistance program in the state of Nebraska, and we need your involvement. The funds and resources you contribute are applied to scholarships, teacher training, classroom demonstrations, food safety initiatives, a state and national competition, and to support the continued efforts of our various educational programs.

The foundation is prepared to move into the future with a commitment to help you succeed in the restaurant and hospitality industry by providing the most comprehensive educational and training solutions available anywhere. Eichorst said he was honored to get the privilege to be a part of Nebraska athletics. Nebraska Chancellor Harvey Perlman said

made Eichorst stand out.

Eichorst comes to Nebraska after spending 18 months as the Director of Athletics at the University of Miami.

Eichorst & his wife Kristin have three sons: Jack, Joseph and Bennett.

Shawn Eichorst was named the 14th Director of Athletics in the history of the University of Nebraska by Chancellor Harvey Perlman on Oct. 4, 2012. Eichorst was formally introduced as the Special Assistant to the Chancellor on Oct. 9.

Eichorst replaced legendary coach and athletic director Tom Osborne on Jan. 1, 2013.
