ON BEHALF OF NAEYC, I invite you to join thousands of your colleagues as we kick it up in Dallas at the 2014 Annual Conference & Expo! I am truly excited about what we have in store this year. In particular, we are proud to debut Grandes Comienzos, Futuros Brillantes (Great Beginnings, Bright Futures), a new initiative that will focus on the strengths and needs of Spanish-speaking children, fam-ilies, and staff across the

Americas. As part of this initiative, attendees will experience new sessions conducted in Spanish on topics of critical interest, as well as new sessions on dual language learning and sessions that focus on best practices in early childhood education in Latin America.

We are also thrilled to host Kathy Hirsh-Pasek,

professor of psychology at Temple University, whose presentation “It’s a Talk Back! Engaging the Whole Nation in a Giant Conversation” will have you enthu-siastically up on your feet.

The Annual Conference is a powerful opportunity for professional growth and opportunities to net-work with world-renowned experts. It is your chance to discover new ways of thinking and find big ideas you can easily apply in your day-to-day routine. You’ll find 700+ educational sessions, opportunities to learn about the latest research and cutting-edge products, and you will leave feeling inspired and recharged. There is something for everyone at the Annual Conference!

Mark your calendars now and I hope to meet you in Dallas!

I return to the NAEYC Annual Conference year after year be-cause it is the finest venue for connecting and reconnecting with early childhood colleagues from every part of my career: Head Start, public health, child care, T/TA, teacher education, and social justice. No other confer-ence I attend (and I attend many) gives me so many opportunities to extend, solidify, or create mean-ingful professional relationships.

The best thing about the annual conference is the opportunity for me, as someone who has present-ed professional development for decades, to learn from others.  It’s such a great time for me to keep up-to-date on best practice, learn from leaders in the field, and connect with colleagues.  I always come away feeling nourished and inspired, and I know that helps me nourish and inspire others.
