Course: HSC Advanced English Class Teacher: A O’Connell, M Harrison KLA Coordinator: J Flanagan Assessment Task Title: Module C Related Text Speech Assessment Weighting: 15% Date/Time of Notification: Wednesday 11 June 2014 (Term 2, Week 7) Due Date/Time: Wednesday 16 July 2014 (Term 3, Week 1) Outcomes: 3, 6, 7, 8, 12A, 13 Submission Details: Students must submit a typed and printed copy of their speech to the teacher at the start of the lesson on the due date. When presenting students cannot deviate from their submitted speech. Students will be filmed presenting their speech in front of a camera during Week 1 as part of an organised schedule. This may involve time outside of class as best suits the students’ timetables. Assessment Task Details: Students will be asked to write and deliver a 5 – 6 minute speech that addresses the following question: How is the representation of conflicting perspectives an integral part of ONE Related Text of your own choosing? In your response justify why this Related Text would be an effective accompaniment to Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar in the study of Module C: Representation and Text. The speech should be no shorter than 5 minutes and no longer than 6 minutes in length. Penalties may apply if students cannot conform to these time limits.
