GENERALS RECAP: • The Generals walked off with a 5-4 victory over the Missis- sippi Braves last night at the ballpark in Jackson. Gabriel Noriega (0-2, R, RBI) hit a sacrifice fly to center that scored Nate Melendres—who entered the game as a pinch runner for Ramon Morla (2-3, BB)—on a deep fly ball to center field. Morla led off the ninth with a double before exiting the game. • 19-year-old right-hander Victor Sanchez went five innings and allowed six hits and four earned runs before finishing with his second no decision of the season. • The Generals answered a 4-0 deficit as Jabari Blash (1-3, 2 RBI, BB) hit his second home run of the season to score Ketel Marte (1-4, 1 R, SB). • Jackson’s bullpen added solid relief pitching in Sunday’s win. Jordan Shipers went two innings and allowed a hit and a walk against eight hitters. Stephen Kolscheen (1-0) earned his first victory of 2014 after a dominant eighth and ninth inning appearance. Daley was a two-time American League All-Star (1959 and 1960), and won a pair of World Series titles with the Yankees (1961 and 1962) ...

STANFORD CAREER...played for Stanford University from 2009-2011. Went 14-14 with a 3.99 ERA as a three-year weekend starter with 271.0 career innings with 191 strikeouts and 104 walks... gave up 255 hits over 271.0 innings with a .257 opponent batting average for the Fullerton Regional MVP as a junior... had three complete games in his career over 45 appearances and 42 starts... had a 4-4 record in freshman and sophomore year and 6-6 mark as a junior.
