2014 FUZZ RUN, AUTUMNFEST, UPCOMING S.E.T. TOP SEPTEMBER AGENDA
The September 16 Newton County Radio Club, ARES & RACES Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Club President Gary Chambers K4MDC at the Newton County Law Enforcement Center. Six members and three visitors attended. Gary K4MDC led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Club dis-cussed the possi-bility of having a special event sta-tion at some point in the fu-ture. A sugges-tion was made to keep our eyes and ears open for a celebration or special activity around Newton County that would present the Club with an op-portunity. Ed Hoard KK4GNH announced the Butts County ARES group will have such a special event station cele-brating Founder's Day in Jenkinsburg, Georgia on October 25. All hams are encouraged to attend in person and/or contact the station on the air. At Gary K4MDC's request, Mike Crowe AJ4GU and Jim Marston K4DOI will have a Digital Tune-Up at our October 21 meeting. Mike AJ4GU said the Butts County group will also have a Digital Tune-Up on Saturday, October 18 at Fire Station #7. Newton County ARES EC Charles Davis WA4UJC reported for ARES. He dis-
cussed the upcoming Georgia S.E.T. (Simulated Emergency Test) scheduled for Saturday, October 4. He said more information will be forthcoming, but for now he knows that the main thrust this year is to test our "go kit" readiness. Also, the Octo-ber Hospital Net, usually held on the first Sunday of each month, will instead be held during the S.E.T. at 9:15 a.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. Ω
