Peter Lehmann was considered a Legend by many in the Barossa. Renowned for the hospitality he showed to anyone with a story to share, or just time to spare.

In Clancy’s, he’s bottled that warm hospitality and named it after the amiable Australian in Banjo Paterson’s famous poem.

Blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot makes Clancy’s an extremely affable drop, the perfect companion to robust flavours and spirited conversation. Australia’s legendary red.

Winemaker’s note

A deep cherry red colour leads to a bouquet showing blackcurrant from the Cabernet, vibrant red fruits from Shiraz and Merlot and charry oak in the background. The palate shows rich plummy bright red fruits, and long, savoury tannins add complexity.

Vintage The 2014 vintage started with very hot weather but was interrupted by two days of heavy rain in mid February after which the weather settled down and we experienced wonderful Indian summer conditions for the remainder of the vintage. This allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, producing wines of exceptional quality.

Vineyards A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot sourced from a cross section of vineyards throughout South Australia’s Barossa Valley.

Winemaking The grapes are individually vinified to the completion of fermentation. Following blending of the varietals the wine is matured in new and old French and American hogsheads for 12 months.

Enjoy Clancy’s is a wine to enjoy with friends over a bowl of Pasta with spiced veal ragu. It will always be a welcome guest at a BBQ.
