A Letterfrom the Executive DirectorDear Family,It is my pleasure to share with you our 2013-2014 annual report. This past year we celebrated 15 years with some of our founders and caught up with some of our past program participants to learn how their lives are going these days.

Over and over, we’ve heard that the services provided by the Children & Family Resource Center helped them make better decisions, opened doors to opportunities they didn’t have otherwise, and helped them provide the best possible home life for their child. The generous support and vision of our community made that happen. In the past 15 years: • The quality of child care programs in

our town has vastly improved over 15 years. On a five point scale, our average quality rating went from a 1.5 in the year

the Center opened to a 4.6, benefitting thousands of children through the years. This is a direct result of the work of our Child Care Resource & Referral program.

• Since 2001, 152 teen parents enrolled in our Adolescent Parenting Program have graduated from high school.

• Nearly 800 families served in our Parents as Teachers Program since its inception in 2001.

• Over 1,100 workshops have been provided to local teachers of young children.

• Thousands of parents have improved their parenting skills.

• 702 individuals received some sort of scholarship assistance help to advance their education in some form – whether it was support for 1 or 2 classes or a scholarship to be used towards a four year degree. All of this helping to advance

a person’s job readiness, improve their income and lead to self-sufficiency.

Our 2014 annual report provides a financial review of our fiscal year (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014). I hope you will see that investments over time have made the Children & Family Resource Center a strong, well-established organization that is doing meaningful work in Henderson County.

Thank you so much for your generous support,
