Hope Conference & Renewal Center is the year-round camp, conference and retreat center of the Eastern District of the Moravian Church. Hope Center is situated on a hillside overlooking Little Silver Lake, with 125 acres of forests, wetlands, fields and lawns. Located at its current site in Hope, NJ since 1946, Hope Center is approximately 90 minutes from New York City and 45 minutes from Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley. Exit 12 of Rt. I-80 provides convenient access to the facility. Accommodations include eight (8) cabins with heat and bath for year-

round use, and four (4) rustic cabins with heat. Meals are served in the Dining Hall or from the kitchen in the Upper Lodge. The covered picnic pavilion seats 150. Recreation facilities include a sand volley-ball court, basketball court, hiking trails, canoeing, paddle boats and swimming in season. A low ropes course (available with facilitator only) is a great group-

building experience. Several Pocono ski resorts are within 30 minutes of Hope. The village of Hope offers quaint antique stores and eateries. Hope Center accommodates up to 96 persons in the winter months and 144 in the warm months. Group retreats can be arranged during the week or on weekends from mid-August to mid-June. During the winter months (November-April) the Upper Lodge and 12 heated cabins are available for rent. From May through October the entire facility is available for use. Ask for our Retreat Rental Bulletin for more information or check our website at www.camphope.org/facility-rental.

Staff and Volunteer Opportunities

One of the hallmarks of the Moravian Church today is a zeal for mission work and education. Volunteers play a vital role in Hope Center’s ministry through their roles as counselors, Jr. counselors, service day volunteers, program leaders, nurses and as visionaries through membership on boards and committees. STAFFSTAFFSTAFFSTAFF Staff members are made up of both volunteers and paid staff. Volunteers are pastors and other adults (18 years and older) serving as conference deans and counselors. Some camps and

conferences also utilize Jr. Counselors. Specialty Camp specialists are adult volunteers who have documented training and expertise in the focus of the camp. Family and adult programs are led by pastors and lay leaders. Paid staff members are young adults who are trained by the Center Administrator. They pre-pare and serve meals, provide office support, serve as life-guards, and perform facility clean-ing and maintenance. Women’s Retreat

QUILT CAMP

Quilt Camp is a four-day retreat designed for women. If you would like to learn to quilt, you will receive expert instruction and encouragement. We have devotional times, shared meals, and time to enjoy the outdoors. The schedule at Quilt Camp is flexible. Feel free to come for the whole four days or any days or nights that work for you.

In addition to stitching, we share tips and tools of the quilting art, and take time to show off our latest projects. To keep costs low, this camp brings its own food. Each camper is asked to bring ingre-dients for meals. We have a

cook who prepares meals and cleans up for us! We even have an annual “banquet” and awards ceremony (Dutch treat at a local restaurant). The Hope Quilters, which is what we call anyone who helps with the quilt-ing projects, meet during the year for work days. If you are interested in joining us, contact Lois Bly Mease at

610-360-0132 for a schedule. You can also find us on Facebook!

You are welcome to come for all or part of the week. Register early so we can plan effectively. Ques-tions? Call (610)360-0132.
