South West Adventure and Gardens of Cornwall

Lets take a long, leisurely drive down to the South West corner and visit Cornwall, there is so much to see and do! Take a day to settle in to your hotel and resort. Newquay has some stunning beaches and the older part of the town has many interesting shops, cafes and harbour front bars. After a leisurely breakfast, lets take the coast route North East to Padstow, don’t forget to visit Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant or if you are feeling energetic why not walk the Camel trail to Wadebridge and we’ll pick you up on the way home! If time allows we’ll spend a little time in the ancient town of Bodmin, if you intend to stay over night in the Jail, please let us know! Today is the day of our garden visits, we will start our day with a morning spent at the world famous Eden Project, after lunch we will try and find “The lost gardens of Heligan” Enjoy! ( Entrance fees for both gardens are included)

Travelling South we will spend the morning in the Ancient city of Truro, visit the Min-ster or take time out for some retail therapy. After lunch we will continue South to Falmouth, visit Pendennis castle or maybe a river trip along the Fal estuary and Carrick Roads would complete another great day. You have a day at leisure to unwind, take some time to relax and find that special place in the sun and don’t forget to take your camera with you. After breakfast we must head home, so say goodbye to the sunny south at least for a little while.

Early Spring in Babbacombe

Start 2014 in style. Let’s shake off the winter cobwebs and travel south for a bit of early spring sun, whilst taking advan-tage of an exceptionally good value offer from this popular, well established family run hotel.

As well as the popular coastal town of Babbacombe, Paignton and Torquay are all within easy reach for exploration on your free day. A half day tour of the Dartmoor national park, including free time in the delightful village of Widecombe in the moor, followed by an afternoon visit to the historic fishing and maritime town of Brixham completes this enjoyable and informative day. A one way journey on the Paignton to Dartmouth steam railway followed by a boat tour/crossing of the river Dart. Free time for a late lunch and the opportunity to explore the delight-ful, historic maritime town of Dartmouth. Meet the tour coach in the late afternoon for the re-turn journey to your hotel. (Train and boat fares are included) Sadly we have to say goodbye to the sunny south coast as we make our way home.

Scottish Lochs and Highlands This tour is designed to take in some of the very best scenery that the West of Scotland has to offer, the roads are at times, challenging, but rarely crowded. We’ll need to make an early start as we’ve got a long way to travel, look forward to stunning scenery and a lunch stop at the famous “Gretna Green” blacksmiths shop and visitors centre. Our journey to Dunoon will require a short ferry crossing, so look out for submarines and more stunning scenery. Lets make the most of our time in Dunoon, so we’ll head West over the Cruach pass to the short ferry crossing which will take us to the Isle of Bute. We will explore this small, but stunning island, making

plenty of photo stops along the way. We will spend the afternoon in Rothsay, the island’s capital, before returning to the hotel in plenty of time for dinner. After a hearty breakfast, bid farewell to Dunoon as we load up the coach and head North to our main stay hotel in Fort William. Again look out for stunning scenery as we wind our way gently via the Lochs and Glens of Fyne and Kinglas. We will spend time in Inveraray before continuing our journey via Loch Awe to arrive at our hotel in plenty of time to settle in and prepare for dinner.

A day at leisure to explore Fort William, or just relax in the hotel, the choice is yours. Take a gentle stroll along the loch side or maybe venture up to “Neptune’s Staircase” and investigate the history of this part of the famous Caledonian canal. Hopefully you are ready for further adventures, as today we will head even further North, with our destination being Inverness. We will travel via Spean Bridge, to see the commando memorial, with a morning coffee stop in Fort Augustus, We will continue our journey via Urquhart castle, Drumnadrochit and of course the infamous Loch Ness, (look out for the monster) Inverness has much to offer: museums, a Victorian indoor market, a super walk along the river and of course lots of retail therapy! Enjoy. Another day, where our general direction is North, this time our destination is the funicular railway at Aviemore. Lookout for Loch Laggan and the castle and gate house of “Glenbogle”. There is much to see on this stunning drive, We will spend time in Aviemore and if time allows we may visit the “Heather centre”, at Speyside. (Cairngorm Funicular railway fare included) Its time to pack those cases, load up the coach and after a hearty breakfast, start our journey south, we have a long way to go, so we are likely to have to make a fairly early start. As with all journeys in this part of Scotland the scenery will be fantastic, especially so, as our route will take us along the side of Loch Lomond.

South Coast Mid Summer Break

Heading south at this time of year almost guarantees fair weather and lots of sun! Eastbourne and the surrounding area has much to offer, from historic Hastings to the vibrant resorts of Brighton and Hove. A day of leisure and time to explore your surroundings with a walk along the pier a must. A full day’s tour takes us east to Bexhill and Hastings, don’t miss the castle as you explore this south coast landmark. A visit to this area would not be complete without a look at Harrold’s battle field so a quick trip to the village of Battle will be included as part of our return route.

A leisurely breakfast, followed by a stroll in the Carpet gardens or perhaps a visit to the shops in the town centre will no doubt give you an appetite for your evening meal. Today we head west for another full days tour, this time our destination is Brighton and Hove. As soon as you walk inland from the seafront, Brighton takes on a very different personality, with elegant regency buildings and antique and flea markets a plenty. By now you will have found your favourite spot in the sun or the best cream tea shop, so with this leisure day you will be able to do some serious relaxing…

Yet another fun day, a scenic half day tour takes us along the coast to Beachy head, to view the seven sisters in all their glory and finally a stop at the English wine centre. Sadly, after a hearty breakfast it’s time to head north and home.
