Before motoring begun the brothers tried
gliding biplanes (The double decker!)originally the design was as a triple winged plane but these crashed so much that they stopped designing them like that
They lay on the bottom wing with usually only a clock for instruments or as bellow hung
from the bottom wing

Rudders were originally used but they proved unsuccessful and couldn’t turn suficiently The development of making a plane steer by
rolling it from side to side meant that more sharp turns could be made
Modern day dogfighting and fighter planes are very agile

The wright flyer could only make small turns that took a long time
Control
The first motor flying plane was the wright flyer They had problems when they had to turn two
propellers with only one engine Later versions of the wright flyer had
instruments such as fuel gauges and altitude indicators

This was because they wanted to have longer ,better flights
Motoring
The US Army took an interest for the planes
the brothers were producing It is not known how many planes the US Army
bought but several crashed The Army wanted the engines to be put
horizontal with the pilot but the brothers plane’s engines remained behind the pilot
This was because they would be going into the copyright of other companies
