Letter from REV SHANE BISHOPFor me, Horse Trough Sunday typified our 2014 year. We planned for our annual immersion Sunday, had the horse troughs brought in and filled, put down the plastic, brought the towels and then...the Holy Spirit showed up! By the end of the day, fifty-nine people were baptized for the very first time and I felt swept up in a Spirit movement of God that was unforgettable. That seems to be how God works at Christ Church. We plan, prepare and execute but then our best ef-forts meet the awesome power of God and something hap-pens beyond anything we could hope or imagine.

I must confess that I really wasn’t aware of the incredible year we were having until last fall. Things never seem to slow down in my world and when I got our third quarter report concern-ing new members, professions of faith, baptisms, attendance and campus numbers, it was clear that we were in the midst of something really special that God was doing. 2014, simply put, was the best ministry year in our history and by the time the financial reports came in, we had a great financial year as well.

When I look back over these past eighteen years, God has been faithful to Christ Church and I believe we have been faithful to God. I must confess that I really don’t have a three, five, and ten year plan for the church anymore. How can you plan when the world seems to change every minute and a half? That being said, we will just continue to relentlessly pur-sue our mission of “connecting people with Jesus Christ” in 2015 and see where it takes us. To this point, it has taken us quite a ways.

Glad to be on this journey with you and I can’t wait to see what God is getting ready to do in our lives and in Christ Church!

GOD IS GOOD!Rev. Shane Bishop
