Once called “Ilha Formosa” by the Portuguese meaning “beautiful island.” Taiwan is renowned for its democratic society, information industry, diverse landscapes, vibrant nightlives, and delicious street food. As you begin to look into this country, you will not only enjoy the view, the food, the cul-ture, but also get to know the heart- warming and friendly Tai-wanese.

Ilha Formosa In love with Taiwan_

Small yet abundant, Taiwan offers a diverse landscapes of mountains, gorges, wet lands, and beaches coexisting with the varied food and cultures. For instance, night markets can be found every-where, which offer all kinds of low budget delicacies. Mazu Carnival, which takes place every April, is one of the world’s biggest religious activ-ities.

With 23 million people on merely 36,000 square kilometer land, Taiwan is one of the most densely populated places in the world. This crowded island is a platform for people to exchange by “heart.” We are not only ready to show our soft and hard skills to the world but also ready for all kinds of impossible challenges in front of us. Taiwan might seem small, but we have a big heart. We are eager to step into the world and amaze the world!

Host City: KaohsiungVibrant port city with urbanism and artistry_

Imagine strolling over the coastline pathway, the wind sways your hairs, and you hear the sound of tide on rocks. The living pace here is slow but people are vibrant. This is Kaohsiung. It is the second populous city in Taiwan and famous for its passionate people.

Over the years, Kaohsiung mor-phed from a tiny trading center into a major hub in the southern part of Taiwan. Kaohsiung Port is one of the largest harbors in the world. Besides apparent urbanism, public artwork is everywhere to be seen near the port called Pier-2 Art Center.

The weather is almost always nice in Kaohsiung. Do not hesitate to come! 2014 IC host city Kaohsiung will definitely offer you a carefree living style in Taiwn.
