Macdonald also contributed with 14 tallies (5 goals, 9 assists) in 44 Kelly Cup Playoff games and was a member of Cincinnati’s first-ever Kelly Cup title in 2008. QUICK HITTERS

Froese on Fire: Cyclones forward Byron Froese has exploded offensively over the last few weeks. He picked up a season-high four points last Saturday and leads the club with 12 assists and 17 points overall. His offensive numbers rank tied for seventh in the ECHL.

Get Him the Puck: Rookie forward Stephan Vigier continues to surge in his first full year as a pro. He is fourth on the Cyclones with nine points in 14 games. The Clones have amassed a 5-0 when he lights the lamp and leads the team with two game-winning goals.

Plays Well With Others: The Cyclones have remained one of the least penalized teams all season long. Their 12.50 penalty-minute average per game is an ECHL-low and as a result have had to kill the fewest power plays of any team in the league.

Rule of Three: The number “three” has been a magic number for the Cyclones this season. They are a perfect 6-0 when holding opponents to three goals or less. Conversely, when Cincy scores more than three goals (4 or more), they are 4-0-0-1.

Clicking on Offense: After scoring 11 goals last weekend over two games, the Cyclones have rocketed up the ECHL charts on offense. They are averaging 3.57 goals per game, which ranks seventh-most in the league. They have scored four goals or more in five of their 14 games this season.

Milestone Watch: Cyclones goaltender, and last year’s Kelly Cup Playoffs MVP Rob Madore is approaching a personal milestone. He needs just two more appearances to reach 100 in his professional career. Since turning pro, the University of Vermont alum has posted a 46-37-8 and a 2.96 goals-against average.
