Program Record: Elmira concluded the regular season with 23 wins, setting a new program record for most regular seasonwins.Thepreviousrecordwasheldbythe2001-02NCAANa-tionalChampionshipteam,astheir22regularseasonvictoriesinElmira’sinauguralseasonwasaprogramrecordfor13years.

ECAC West Player of the Year:AshleyRyan’15,thenation’slead-erinpointsandassists,wasnamedtheECACWestConferencePlayeroftheYear.Ryan’sawardmarksthefirsttimeanElmiraplayerhastakenhometheconference’stophonorsinceformerAHCAAll-AmericanKaylaCoady’09diditin2008-09.Ryanhasenjoyedherbestseasontodatewith56points,17goals,and39assists,allofwhicharecareerhighs.

ECAC West Rookie of the Year: Kayla Meneghin ’18 wrapped-up the regular season with 44 points on 19 goals 25 assists, all ofwhichwereteam-highs,enroutetobeingnamedtheECACWest ConferenceRookie of the Year. Meneghin’s 1.76 pointspergameaverage is thehighestaverage for rookiesacrossalldivisionsofmen’sandwomen’scollegehockey.

No Home Ice, No Problem:TheCardinalshavebeenoneofthemost dominant programs in the country over the last severalyears,mainly due to their consistency nomatter where theyplay.Plattsburghhasyettotastedefeatontheroad,going12-0-1awayfromtheStaffordIceArenathisseason.Sincethe2012-13season,Plattsburghhasgone36-2-3awayfromhome,withtheironlytwolossescomingtoMiddleburyandElmira.

Lenard for the Win:InOswego’s2-1winoverCortland,rookieRachel Lenard ’18played thehero, scoringbothgoals againsttheRedDragons.BothofLenard’stalliescameonpower-playopportunitiesasshehelpedOswegomaketheirsecondconsec-utiveECACWestSemifinalappearance.

First Team Honors: Senior Goaltender, Bridget Smith ’15, has been instrumental inOswego’ssuccess thisseason. In19ap-pearances,Smithhasposteda13-4-1record,making530savesintheprocessofbeingnamedtotheECACWestAll-ConferenceFirstTeam.Her1,279careersavesaresecond-mostinOswegohistory,whileher.948savepercentageleadsthenation.

Defense is Key:CreditmuchofOswego’striumphsin2014-15totheirplayonthedefensiveendoftheice.TheLakersownthenation’ssixth-bestscoringdefense,limitingteamsto1.58goalspergame.Oswego’spenaltykillunithasalsobeensuperbthisyear,denying82-of-88opponentpower-playchancesforasuc-cessrateof93.2,whichleadsallofNCAADivisionIIIwomen’sicehockey.

UTICA COLLEGE NOTESPostseason Pioneers: Utica punched their ticket to the ECACWestSemifinalsbydowningBuffaloState4-1 inthequarterfi-nals.Withthewin,thePioneershavesuccessfullyreachedthreestraightECACWestConferenceSemifinalsandhavemadeitto12ECACWestSemifinalsoverthelast14seasons.However,thePioneershaveonlyreachedtheconferencefinalonetime,dat-ingbacktothe2005-06season.

Real Deal Reed: Third-year talentMorgan Reed ’16 has beenUtica’sgo-toplayeronoffensethisseason,assheleadsthePio-neers with a career-high 26 points on 15 goals, which are also a career-best,and11assists.Her15goalsaretiedforeighth-mostintheECACWestConference,asareher26points.ReedisalsoUtica’stoppower-playscorerwithfourpower-playgoals.

Staying Out of the Sin Bin: Utica has seen their fair share ofpenaltyminutes during the 2014-15 campaign, 308 to be ex-act.ThePioneersareaveraging11.8penaltyminutespergame,thethird-highestaverageinthecountry,andhavesurrendered28power-playgoals. ThankfullyforUtica,theyhaveGabrielleSchnepp’17,whoistiedforsixthinthenationinshorthandedgoalswithtwo.
