At these workshops you will review the functionalities, dive deeper into the topics, get practical examples, take part in discussions, go through online demonstrations, and determine the business benefits of SAP® solutions for the utilities industry. Each workshop provides you with a unique opportunity to address challenges, discuss them with your peers, and gain valuable guidance from some of the most knowledgeable experts on the applications from SAP. Please note that you cannot switch between parallel workshops. For comprehensive details relating to these workshops, please visit www.tacook.asia/saputilities-workshops

All workshops will take place between 9:00 and 17:00

Workshop 1: SAP for Utilities Portfolio: Process and Overview

In this workshop we will review the SAP for Utilities portfolio and how it fits with utilities processes, to better understand the portfolio’s relevance and value proposition for utilities today. The workshop will start with an overview of the solution portfolio, including some exciting innovations. From here we will engage in a process-centric conversation covering master data, customer interactions, asset management, meter handling, billing, accounting, collections, market communications, key integrations, and finally analytics.

David Coldrey, Senior Utilities Industry Advisor, SAPLuis Gonzalez, Utilities Services Hub Director Asia Pacific Japan, SAP

Workshop 2: Driving Superior Customer and Revenue Management with SAP

Utilities that put customers at the center of their business consistently outperform their peers in retaining profits and growth, while customer assurance is the lifeblood of the enterprise. Failure to manage these business functions effectively is calamitous for the utility organization. Accordingly SAP provides a vast offering of software within this functional scope, but this can be challenging for the uninitiated to navigate. At the same time the ground is constantly changing, so knowledge loses currency at an alarming rate. This workshop will assist both newcomers and seasoned SAP professionals in understanding not only the business trends but also how SAP solutions come together to solve business problems. Phillip Vaughan, Director – Utilities Industry, Asia Pacific Japan, SAPSharon Choong, Industry Director – Utilities, SAP

Workshop 3: Innovations in Enterprise Asset Management for Utilities

Enterprise assets in the utilities industries such as generators, turbines, boilers, transmission lines, underground cables, pipelines, and other capital equipment each have a defined set of capabilities – businesses seek to maximize their performance throughout the asset lifecycle. How efficiently an asset performs largely depends on the ability to continuously monitor, maintain, and manage it. How well you can do this, in turn, depends on how easily you can collect key asset metrics and manage asset-related processes. This workshop will look at solutions that can provide visibility into your asset performance enterprise-wide, predict failure before it happens, manage assets that are linear and geographically distributed, provide visualization of work processes, mobilize field work forces, and provide a safe worksite environment.

Len Harms, Chief Strategy Officer, Business Development Utilities, Vesta Partners Wayne Tan, Senior Solution Advisor, EAM, South East Asia, SAP

Workshop 4: Technology Platforms and Innovation

Join this hands-on workshop to receive an in-depth overview of the latest technology platforms available from SAP. Over the course of the day, SAP subject matter experts will walk you through the latest innovations, such as SAP HANA, SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence solutions, and SAP Mobile Platform. With a particular focus on how utility companies can best take advantage of this technology to improve their business operations, this workshop is your chance to see the functionality, watch live demos, and have your questions answered. Get a detailed overview of SAP HANA, and discover how using SAP HANA on Amazon Web Services (AWS) can bring additional value to you and your organization. Find out where self-service and agile visualization solutions from SAP fit into an enterprise business intelligence strategy. Learn how SAP customers in the utilities industry are using mobile solutions.
