Freelance Drafting - New York, NY 2013.04 - 2013.07I created existing floor plans for a large Westchester residence, a floor plan for a Brooklyn studio apartment, an initial kitchen layout and cabinetry specification for a Manhattan apartment.

Peek Exhibition, Exhibition Designer - Auckland, New Zealand 2010.12 - 2013.03As an exhibition designer, I’ve led over 150 exhibition stands, point-of-sale displays, and permanent installations from design through to installation. I design and project manage custom stands that need to be easily transported, assembled, disassembled, and recon-figured for future use. I work with an in-house cost estimator to turn over visuals and quotes to clients within a 2-3 week time frame. Upon approval, I create shop drawings and review them with our in-house builders. I am responsible for sourcing all electri-cal, flooring, AV and other stand needs. Project budgets range from $3K to $80K. It’s a fast-paced industry that requires strong project management, organization, attention to detail, and team work.

Kingsland Scott Bauer Associates, Architectural Graduate & LEED AP - Pittsburgh, PA 2007.10 - 2010.07Responsible for all LEED documentation and project management for the first LEED-certi-fied home in Pittsburgh. Additionally responsible for construction documents, contractor bidding, construction management and interior design of the home. As part of the LEED certification process, I created educational materials and spoke with over 500 open house visitors seeking to learn about the home. Additional work has included site planning and design development for a 75,000 ft2 call center in Montego Bay, Jamaica as well as pro-gramming and schematic design for a 125,000 ft2 office and training center for a global company producing turbines and generators.

Responsible for instructing children how to make organic paints and lava lamps from household materials, and for teaching them the scientific principles behind these proj-ects. The instruction was organized by the non-profit MicroEmpowering.

Carnegie Museum of Art, Instructor - Pittsburgh, PA 2007.07 - 2009.01Responsible for the instruction and curriculum development of summer and winter ar-chitecture classes for children of varying economic backgrounds aged 7 to 14 years old. Class instruction involved vocabulary building, structural concepts, drawing techniques and model building.

CMU Computational Design Lab, Fabrication & Assembly Assistant - Pittsburgh, PA 2007.06 - 2007.08As a follow-up to an independent study, I was hired to solder and assemble hardware for toys that wirelessly connect in real-time to a 3D computer model. This project was part of greater research into enhancing childhood development via play with toys connected to multiple computing devices. Consumer Powerline, Construction Management Intern - New York City, NY 2006.06 - 2006.08Assisted the on-site management of a $5 million dollar energy audit and renovation proj-ect for a thirty-eight building residential complex cooperatively owned by an electricians’ union. Responsibilities included locating and reporting on the condition of boiler room equipment, locating and mapping electrical equipment, and shutting off power during periods of energy curtailment.

CMU Architecture Woodshop, Teaching Assistant/Monitor - Pittsburgh, PA 2004.08 - 2007.05 Repaired and cleaned all machinery and hand tools. Assisted students in the design de-tails and construction of their projects. Instructed students on safe work practices and implemented first aid measures as necessary.

ActivitiesSouth Auckland Woodturners Guild, Member - Auckland, New Zealand 2011 - 2013.03

The guild is the largest in New Zealand with over 100 members, and it has some expert woodturners that teach and sell nationally and internationally. I take weekend courses, assist in club events, and look to build my skills, passion and gifts to the family over time.

The Street Trash Sculpture Clash, Participant - Auckland, New Zealand 2012.09A one-day blitz event that brought Auckland City architects, designers, artists and the community together to create sculpture from trash.

LEED for Homes Open House Event, LEED AP - Pittsburgh, PA 2009.10 - 2009.11An event to educate homeowners and professionals about the LEED residential project I managed while at KSBA Architects. I created invitations, pamphlets and informational boards and answered questions over four consecutive weekends.

A competition to design an intergenerational playscape along an existing multipurpose path connecting Cleveland’s west side neighborhoods to Edgewater Park on Lake Eerie.

The European Food exhibition stand and Maori Tourism display I designed were two of the five projects awarded in the country.

Gold Medal & Silver Medal for New Zealand Sign & Display Awards 2012 - Auckland, New Zealand 2012The Toblerone point-of-sale display I designed for the Auckland International Airport re-ceived the gold medal and the Smith & Nephew exhibition stand I designed for a medical conference received a silver medal. As a company with a strong design focus and 85 years experience in the industry, Peek Exhibition took home three of the top awards in 2012.
