Stephen HuckleThe whole concept and design of Unistage was developed by Managing Director Stephen Huckle.

Steve was born and raised in Manchester and as a studious youth and keen saxophonist he became head boy at his high school in Denton. After leaving school, Steve went on to study for an apprenticeship and achieve his OND and HND in Mechanical and Production Engineering. Following 6 years with the same company Steve became a Design Engineer with a Hyde based company working with several large blue chip companies including Rolls Royce, JCB, BAE and also the Ministry of Defence.

Fast forward a few years to the early nineties when Steve went on to work for a staging company as a product design engineer, where his role was to design new products while improving existing ones. His time there was relatively short after becoming increasingly frustrated, as his suggested improvements to existing products were ignored. Steve went on to further his knowledge working for a manufacturer of laser machines.

Whilst extending his knowledge of manufacturing and design processes over the years, Steve believed his

staging designs were better than anything else available and had a fi rm belief that there was a

market for his product. Over the years Steve improved and adapted his staging designs to ensure his product was simple, effective and

easy to use whilst continuing to work in a managerial role for a large manufacturing

company employed on behalf of major names such as House of Fraser, Debenhams, Argos and Comet.

In 1999 Steve’s product was patented and Unistage arrived. Since the very beginning,

Steve has remained the driving force behind improvements and new product designs. Not wanting Unistage to stand still, Steve has learnt there is always

room for improvement and continues to develop new ideas and attract new business.

Simple to use, simple to storeUnistage is made up of 3 principal components and is simple to assemble without the need for tools. Unistage is the ideal solution when space is at a premium as it stores easily and compactly on a transportable storage shuttle, and can be stacked compactly enough to fi t through a standard doorway.

ModularUnistage is completely modular allowing the staging to be reconfi gured in different ways time and time again giving you extra fl exibility.

As Unistage is modular, you can add more staging and accessories to your stage at any time, starting if you wish with a simple set and gradually adding more and more.



No clunks, no squeaks, no noiseThe unique design of Unistage ensures it is extremely quiet so does not interrupt your performance with unnecessary noise.

Strong and DurableUnistage is constructed from strong, robust steel frames and high quality birch plywood decks. A standard frame and deck is capable of supporting loads equivalent to 10 fully grown men.All of our staging is fully guaranteed against faults in materials, manufacture and workmanship for a period of 10 years from delivery.

LightweightUnistage is so lightweight that children can assist in building and storing it away.

Stage 3: Choose your Unistage


Select your UnistageWe understand that not everyone’s requirements are the same, and therefore give you the options and choices to create ‘your’ stage.

Unistage can be purchased as individual items, a complete ‘ready made’ set or a bespoke arrangement, all of which can be added to at any time. The complete staging sets are there for your convenience and include all key components to make a stage.

If your requirements are a little different, or you are looking for a custom built size or arrangement, we can take care of this. With our ‘in-house’ design and manufacturing space, we are able to create and tailor a design to suit your specifi c requirement. Our service includes a free of charge full site survey and detailed CAD drawings, through to the professional delivery, installation and training.

We offer a host of standard fi nishes to compliment your hall and are able to personalise your stage further by catering for special requests and alternative fi nishes. In house designUnistage have an ‘in-house’ design team to create and develop a stage or platform specifi cally to meet your requirements.From bespoke structures and sizes to a variety of fi nishes, we can manufacture the right solution for you.

Our ‘in-house’ CAD designers are able to design and produce a visualisation for you which can then be put into production. Whether you are looking for a certain size stage to fi t into an existing space, or require a platform to match an existing height, we are able to cater for this.Made in the UK

In house manufactureUnistage are proud that all of our staging is manufactured in our factory in Lancashire, UK. This gives us full control on all of our design and manufacturing processes, quality and testing and ensures we produce staging we are proud to deliver. We take care to source supplies from environmentally friendly and sustainable sources wherever possible and we are committed to purchasing all of our materials from British suppliers.

Stage 5: Delivery


Smart, simple and suited to youWe only use our own smart, well-mannered and obliging delivery personnel to deliver your stage. All members of our team hold Enhanced CRB Disclosures.

On delivery our team will ensure you are completely happy with your stage, explain how it goes together and set it up for you if required. Deliveries are generally on a multi drop route. Wherever possible we will try to accommodate any timed requirements you have.

We’re here to helpOn delivery we will demonstrate how to use the staging, so if you have staff members or pupils available at the time of delivery, we’d be happy to show them all how to build your Unistage and answer any questions they may have.

If you have any old staging you no longer require, please speak to our offi ce when placing your order and we’d be happy to arrange to collect your old stage and take it away for free!

FramesUnistage offer 3 different heights of frame as standard, 180mm, 360mm and 540mm, all of which are 750mm x 750mm and form the basis of your staging. While providing a safe step distance between levels for all ages and abilities, these heights also prove popular with a variety of venues. Our stacker frames can be stacked inside other frames or used stand alone.

The stacker frames enable different heights to be created, in increments of 180mm, giving added fl exibility. All frames are complete with fl oor protector feet.

The standard frame fi nish is hard wearing and durable zinc yellow and lacquer. From 2012 wewill be offering a choice of several Epoxy Powder Coated coloured fi nishes at no extra cost.

Storage ShuttlesStandard staging sets come with spiral stack shuttles, which can hold up to 24 Unidecks and frames.

With a diameter of 1.07m and a height of up to 2.20m spiral storage shuttles are ideal for most storage situations.

However, if you are concerned about transporting your staging through narrow areas and doorways you may want to consider an inline storage shuttle, which has a width of just 0.90m. Guardrail storage shuttles offer a neat storage solution for large sets of guardrails.

Spiral storage is our standard way of storing and transporting staging. You can store up to 24 Unidecksand 24 base frames on each shuttle. Frames and decks can also be stored inline on a standard shuttle

allowing them to fit through a standard doorway.

Guardrail ShuttleWith each shuttle you can store up to

20 guardrails, or 10 guardrails and up to12 scenery flats. This will protect them from

damage and make them easier to transport.

All staging units are made from three simple components: metal frame, wooden deck and Unilink.

DecksUnidecks are constructed from BB grade birch plywood and finished with a clear anti-slip lacquer as standard. Optional finishes are black, wood stain or carpet. A reversible Duo-deck is also available with wood on one side and carpet on the reverse.

• Standard Unideck is 750mm x 750mm

• Standard Uni-tier is 750mm x 500mm and 750mm x 900mm.

StepsStep frames are the same construction as the base frames and the step tread is birch plywood.

Safety GuardrailTwo types of design are available, either horizontal barsor vertical spindled bars.

FramesBase frames are available in standard heights of 180mm, 360mm and 540mm to create a flat stage. Stacker frames are available in standard heights of 180mm, 360mm and 540mm which gives the option of flat or multi-level staging. Non-standard height frames are also available. Unitier frames are also available for varying depths of tiering.

• Standard frame finish is zinc yellow and lacquer, but from 2012 we will be offering a powder coating finish.

• Frame construction is ERW Steel Box Section Tube.
