FACILITIES

THE COURSE Established in 1958 and located just 25 minutes south of Calgary in High River, the Highwood has everything the city does not. Surrounded by the majestic Highwood River, and full of history and tradition, our courses offer a tranquil setting with moun-tain views and friendly smiles. Our 3 nines allow us to offer you tee off formats that 18 hole courses cannot. Large or small, 27 holes offer flexibility for crossovers, shotguns and straight start times. We are known for our playability and excellent pace of play. The Highwood is proud to host the 2013 Ladies Amateur Championship July 8-12. You will enjoy the beautifully appointed décor and private setting of our new club-house. Our tournament room (holds up to 200 people), pro shop, meeting room, dining room and bag drop will elevate your event to the next level.

FORMATS Having 27 holes available provides a degree of flexibility that 9 or 18 hole courses simply cannot offer. We can offer a variety of starting formats for almost every size of group. Ask our Events Coordinator about the perfect format for your group. Guidelines:

A shotgun format is where larger groups all start at the same time on different holes and ideally finish at the same time. Great for coordinating meals and prizes following golf. 18 and 27 hole shotgun starts are available at either 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM. 9 hole shotgun and crossover starts allow for a wider variety of starting times to suit your needs. A crossover start is where groups all start on the first hole (with normal spacing between groups) on multiple nines. After finishing nine holes, groups ‗crossover‘ to the other nine(s). This allows medium sized groups to start and finish closer to each other than regular straight tee times, but not all at the same time like a shotgun.

Format Minimum Maximum

Straight Tee Times 16 64

9 Hole Shotgun 52 72

18 Hole Shotgun 104 144

27 Hole Shotgun 156 216
