Stroke & Turn Judging Philosophy NVSL Purpose: To develop in the children
participating in this program a love for the sport, advanced aquatic skills, teamwork, and the principles of good sportsmanship
Dominant Principle: Fairness to all competitors, giving the benefit of the doubt, in every instance, to the swimmer ◦ Fairness = Applying the same standards to all swimmers
regardless of age
Trivia Question:
◦ Benefit of the doubt = Only “call it” if you are absolutely sure you “saw it”
