BROTHERHOODWithout a doubt one of the best benefits of the Sigma Pi brotherhood is
friendship. The fraternity provides a place where strong friendships are forged throughcommon goals and activities; friendships that last long after college. The word to
describe this lifelong bond is brotherhood. A brotherhood is based on shared principles, mutual respect, and common goals. Being part of a fraternity is something that cannotbe compared to anything else. Those who have not experienced it will never understandit, and many of those who have, can't explain it.

SOCIALSigma Pi is a social organization, so naturally one of the greatest benefits of
brotherhood is the social opportunities. Our social calendar includes formals, tailgates, datenights, band parties, and socials with other fraternities and sororities. In the Spring, ourhouse is turned into a tropical paradise for our annual week-long island celebration, Luau.Football season brings tailgates on the lawn with brothers, dates, and alumni. Band parties
include Night in New Orleans, Halloween Party, Christmas Cocktail, and Redneck Riviera. Our formal, the Orchid Ball, is the highlight of our social schedule, held each year in NewOrleans.

GREEK LIFEAcademics: One of the primary purposes of the fraternity system is to encourage anddevelop high scholastic achievement among its members. The average GPA of fraternity menhas long been better that that of non-Greek men at Auburn University. Sigma Pi has GPArequirements that encourage members to excel academically. Sigma Pi also has a brothertutoring service that helps develop strong study and testing skills.
Philanthropy: The concerns of a Greek man extendfar beyond the confines of campus life. Community serviceand philanthropic activities are integral components ofSigma Pi at Auburn University. Our fraternity sponsors amultitude of activities each year to raise money and donatetime to individual philanthropies. Some of these eventsinclude Project Uplift with Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, theProject Paws Event for the Human Society, and the ACEProject benefiting Auburn University. The spirit of reaching
out to help others in the community unites us and helps buildmoral character through the realization of the needs ofpeople less fortunate.
Athletics: Sigma Pi is actively involved in intramural sports at Auburn University. Largefraternities have their own leagues that allow for competition in basketball, softball, bowling, volleyball, flag football, and tennis. Our brotherhood takes athletics very seriously, finishing inthe top three for large fraternities in 2012. Sigma Pi brothers are also a part of five differentAuburn University club sports teams. Be it lacrosse, water skiing, or ice hockey, our brothers areproud to wear the Auburn uniform.

PLEDGINGPledging Sigma Pi offers a great experience prior to becoming an active brother in
our fraternity. Pledge semester is the time when lifelong bonds are formed with your newbrothers. We have a well designed pledge program aimed at educating and enlighteningnew members of the traditions and history of our chapter. Becoming a pledge gives newstudents a great opportunity to meet other members of Auburn's Greek community. Thebrothers plan themed swaps with each sorority's new pledge class to allow a socialexperience with your own age group and introduce you to Auburn's sororities. Newmembers also participate in intramural pledge football, competing against otherfraternities. Academic success is always important for a first year college student. Sigma Pipledges have study hours at the library enforced by the Brotherhood ScholarshipChairman. Our new members also have access to the brother tutoring service.

LIFE IN THE HOUSESigma Pi offers a unique living experience. As the largest house on Old Row, we can
offer more than most fraternities. We have 30 single occupied rooms in the house. Theliving arrangements are suite style, allowing two brothers to share a bathroom. Living in thehouse is a great way to become an active part of the brotherhood as well as a great place tostudy or relax with other brothers. In addition to living areas, our house features both
basketball and volleyball courts.

BROTHERHOOD ANNEXAfter a brother leaves Auburn, one may think that fraternity life has come to an end.
Brotherhood is for a lifetime, and you will always remember the great times with yourbrothers. Our alumni have always made generous contributions to our chapter. Much of thegenerosity is behind the scenes with the functionality of the house, but every house is in
constant need of updating. Being that our house is 25 years old, it is time for a little sprucingup. The Alumni have been working hard designing a two stage renovation project that is totake place in the near future. First on the list is a brotherhood annex, or party barn, that is tobe completed in the upcoming year. We are very excited about the construction and we haveno doubt it will be the premier venue for any social event in Auburn!
