BonnieSpringsRanchwasoriginallybuiltin1843asa
stopoverforthewagontrainsgoingtoCaliforniabywayoftheOldSpanishTrail.In1846,
GeneralFremont,onhiswaytoCalifornia,stoppedatwhatisnowBonnieSpringsRanchto
gearupforhistripthroughDeathValley.Since1952,theranchhasbeenusedasatourist
attraction.From gun fightsandhangings, towaxmuseums, shoppingandmore, this
stop issuretogivevisitorsasenseoftheOldWest.*Notrecommendedforthoseusingwheelchairs.
Themany springs in the areasmountains providedwater for Paiute Indians and late
broughtmountainmenandearlysettlerstothearea.TheSpringMountainRanch,a520
acreoasis,was developed into a combinationworking ranch and luxurious retreat by

have
given
the
area
along
and
colorful
history.

gasolineshortages

plant
