Day 10 Early morning departure from Jerusalem.Cross the Sinai, traveling ancient caravan routesacross the Sinai to the base of Mt. Sinai forovernight.Day 11 Visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine atthe base of Mount Sinai. Trace the route of theExodus along the eastern Sinai coast to WadiFeiran where the Children of Israel withstood theAmalekites. Travel to Elim where the Children ofIsrael camped by the oasis of 70 palm trees. Yourfinal stop of the day will be Marah by the Red Seawhere the “waters were bitter.” Continue to Cairofor dinner and a three night stay.Day 12 Travel south to view Joseph’s River andLake, created by Joseph during the period of theseven years of famine. Visit a grain silo of thekind established under Joseph’s rule to storegrain during the seven years of famine. Tour therural region of traditional Egyptian farming andstop at an old corn water mill. Travel as Abrahamdid to Memphis (Biblical Noph) and on toSakkara where you will see the Step Pyramid,the world’s oldest stone structure. Work will require various levels of physical conditioning, but there will be a job for everyone.Work includes digging, sifting dirt, washing pottery and finds and sorting and cataloguingfinds. Suggested Schedule for Work Days:

5:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Daily work on the site 9:00 a.m. - 9:40 a.m. - Breakfast at the site1:00 p.m - Lunch at the hotel4:30 p.m - 6:30 p.m - Lab work and pottery reading7:00 p.m - Dinner at the hotel8:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m - Lecture
