2013 In Review

WHAT WE DID IN 2013?Due to the loss of our father, our preparations and organisation were again well behind schedule by time December came around. Despite this, we still organised:

• A concert, which had a larger attendance than last year, with world class musicians. It featured Bob Corbett (2012 Toyota Star Maker) and Grayson (Newcastle born singer/songwriter who is signed in the US where he spends his time touring). This night also featured appearances from Santa and Dougal.

• Two nights of Santa photos, with photography from Josh Marshall from Living Light Photography.

• New supporters to help improve the experience for our visitors.

• A bigger light display --- almost double the number of lights.

NEW AND CONTINUED SUPPORTERSBeyond our musicians who performed at our concert for free, and our neighbours who volunteered as Dougal and additional collectors, returning supporters included:

• Xiphos (from Queensland) with continued helped with logo design.• Local electricians helped ensure everything was wired safely.• Candyman Signs helped provide signage for the venue.• EFN helped with further construction of custom designed pieces.• My-T-Bright Lights provided further lights.• Living Light Photography and Alround Autoelectricians who again helped

put on our Santa photos.• Instant Access did not loan us a stage, but instead donated it to us for

use in the future.

New supporters include:

• Ambush (from Bourke) who provided us with mosquito traps.• ReLive It (from Melbourne) who provided us with Time Lapse

photography gear.• Red Bull Racing Australia who ‘anonymously’ provided us with

memorabilia to auction.

SOCIAL MEDIAPart of the reason for our success is our online presence and support of friends.

• Our website received over 1500 page impressions over 2013.

• Our Facebook page to date has 675 Likes (up from approximately 250 in 2012).

• According to Facebook data, our total reach in the 28 days prior to Christmas Eve was 20,589 people (as opposed to 5,102 in 2012).

We want you to join us in 2014!How can you help?

WE WANT YOU!We currently want help in one of two ways:

1. Supporters --- We still need particular services provided to us either (preferably free) or at cost. Examples in ways that companies have helped in the past is Candyman Signs by providing signage, or our electricians providing technical support, or Ambush Mosquito Traps providing traps to reduce our mosquito population.

2. Donors --- We would love to have your company donate a sum of money of your choosing to the Cancer Council through our donation page. This allows you to donate to an important cause and helps us raise awareness of our display through employees at your business. More foot traffic means more money for an amazingly important cause.

OUR GOAL FOR 2014?

We want to continue promoting the great work the Cancer Council performs and to help raise as much money as we can.

We wish to again raise more money than the previous year, so this year we are hoping to raise approximately $6,500.

We are already on the way after raising $200 during a Christmas In July concert at the Duke of Wellington pub this year.

We hope that you can help us achieve our goal.
