Boys BasketBall CampPROGRAM - August 19-23, 2013Male basketball players aged 8-14 years are invited to participate in FIVE ACTION PACKED DAYS of basketball drills and competitions.

Laurier’s Boys Basketball Summer Camp provides young athletes with the chance to improve their skills in a fun and challenging atmosphere.

Each player is given special attention with a maximum player to coach ratio of 10:1.

Participants are grouped in divisons based on age, skill and playing ability for both instruction sessions and games.

BONUS!Each player is given free admission to all of the Golden Hawk Men’s Basketball games for the 2013-2014 season!

CAMP FEATURESInstructorsThe camp coaching staff is composed of current university players, local high school coaches and Laurier’s basketball coaching staff.

Each player will receive feedback on their shooting, dribbling, passing as well as 1 on 1 skills and team play.

Enrollment is LIMITED!! Registration is on a first come first serve basis and to ensure athletes receive individual attention, we are limiting registration to 80 players. Camp FeesThe cost to participate is $220.00 per athlete. All players will receive a reversible jersey, and a basketball.

For extended hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.), there is a flat rate of $25/week/child.

Girls BasketBall Camp

Refund PolicyIn the event that you cancel your child’s camp session, a minimum of ten (10) days notice prior to the start date of the camp is required for a refund, less a $50 administrative fee. Should you fail to give ten (10) days notice, you will be required to pay the full camp fee. 2. Click the purple select button on the camp you wish to purchase

3. Select the number of camp spots & options you wish to purchase for each week. 4. Click Add to Cart. 5. If you wish to purchse more camps, follow steps 2 through 4 again. 6. Once you have selected all the camps you wish to purchase click the checkout button on the right hand side of the screen.

7. Click the Login/Create Account for Secure Checkout button.

8. If you already have an account enter your email address and password and skip to step 12. If not click the Sign Up Now button.

9. In the Sign Up Now area enter your First and Last name and an email address. The system will email you your password. If you don’t recieve a password email [email protected] 10. Once you get your password, click checkout on the right hand side and then the Login/Create Account for secure checkout button.

11. Login using your email address and password.

12. You should see a list of your purchases and your total to be billed.

13. Click the Add An Address button. Enter your Billing Address and click add. You can add a separate address for mailing if they are different. 14. On ice instruction taught by Head Coach and Laurier men’s hockey team members. Participants from ages 7-13 will be divided into three groups according to age and further divided by ability. This will allow the coaches to provide more personal instruction by working with small groups. Player Instruction ratio will be 10:1 The daily schedule will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. There will be a late pickup option (4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.) for an additional cost of $20/child.

Facilities Located at:RIM Park, 2001 University Ave., Waterloo, Ontario

Meals can be ordered through RIM Park’s Food Services for an additional cost by calling 519-884-1790. Meal orders should be placed on the Wednesday before the camp starts. CAMP FEATURESON-ICEThere will be over two and a half hours of ice time divided into two sessions each day. A session will include power skating, teaching individual skills as well as individual and team tactics.

OFF-ICEThe off-ice program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at RIM Park.

PROGRAM - July 22- July 26, 2013NEW for the summer of 2013!

It’s an action-packed aquatic challenge for children who love the water and want more than traditional lessons. This program is ideal for quick learners, those caught in-between levels or programs, and youth who thrive in an energetic learning environment.

The Junior Lifeguard Camp (JLC) has been designed to serve a serious purpose, but the process is pure fun! The club stresses skill development based on personal-best achievements.

Students will work to develop and improve swimming and aquatic skills with emphasis on swimming and lifesaving skills, personal fitness, community education, lifesaving knowledge, leadership and teamwork. Up to seven recognition seals and lifesaving awards can be earned!

CAMP FEATURESINSTRUCTORSCurrent certified lifeguards and swim instructors will provide instruction and supervision for the camp to be held at the Athletic Complex pool.

IN-POOLThere will be a variety of pool sessions that offer a chance to see what real lifeguards do around the WLU aquatic center. Students will work to develop and improve swimming and aquatic skills with emphasis on swimming and lifesaving skills, personal fitness, community education, lifesaving knowledge, leadership and teamwork. Up to seven recognition seals and lifesaving awards can be earned!

DRY-LANDCampers will participate in a variety of dry-land activites that relate to lifesaving. There is a day trip on the Wednesday and a BBQ lunch on Friday!

Prerequisite:Children 8-15 who can swim a minimum of 25 metres and tread water for 2 minutes.

Cost: $210.00 for the week Extended hours are available for a flat rate of $30/week/child.

CAMP FEATURESON-ICEThe Laurier Women’s Varsity Hockey Team will be running this hockey development camp. Your player will receive 15 hours of on-ice instruction from outstanding role models who have demonstrated their dominance in the OUA by winning the conference title 8 of the last 9 years!

Sessions will include teaching individual skills as well as individual and team tactics. The on-ice program will include goal-tender instruction for 40 minutes of the session (a.m. only).

OFF-ICEThe off-ice program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at RIM Park. Players will be able to participate in a variety of sports and video sessions.

Also included: Proper Warm-up and Cool-down, Off-ice Training Activities, Games

This unique program will offer the opportunity for young players to talk to university athletes and learn first hand about the student-athlete experience.

Golden Hawk leader-in-traininG proGramPROGRAM - 3 SessionsThe Leaders-In-Training program offers individuals aged 13-16 years a unique experience, as they will develop their leadership and teamwork skills through fun, interactive activities. LIT’s will also get the opportunity to shadow counsellors and lead activities for the younger campers.

The LIT program is meant to introduce the fundamentals of leadership in the hopes that they may apply these skills to their everyday life and future aspirations. Week one involves a focus on a variety of skills and experiences to prepare them for working with campers. Week two involves working as a volunteer with the camp, applying the skills and experiences hands-on.

CAMP FEATURESUnder the guidance of specialized session leaders, including a Camp Coordinator, LIT’s will get the opportunity to experience a number of excellent workshops.

Program highlights include: - Sessions on: leadership, communication, and teamwork- Résumé writing and interview preparation- Basic First-aid- Sport skill technique breakdown and sport lesson plan development - Weekly fun-filled trips #1. PROGRAM - July 29-August 2 & August 6-9, 2013Wilfrid Laurier’s Soccer School & Sports Camp provides boys and girls age 6-13 with the opportunity to develop their soccer skills in a positive and non-threatening environment. Participants will also be able to enjoy the off-field activities available at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Participants will be divided into three groups according to age and further divided by ability. This will allow the coaches to provide more personal instruction by working with small groups.

Each player is given special attention with a maximum player to coach ratio of 10:1.

The daily schedule will run from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.CAMP FEATURESON-FIELDThe on-field content will be heavily focused on technical skill development in a positive, non-threatening environment. The concentration will be on skill drills leading to small sided games. We are looking to provide a very positive experi-ence for all of the players.

OFF-FIELD

The off-field program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at Wilfrid Laurier University. These activities include: indoor soccer, swimming, dodgeball, organized games, video sessions, and climbing wall. Camp FeesWeek 1 : $200.00 Week 2 : $160.00

Notes: For extended hours (8:30 am - 4:30 pm), there is a flat rate of $25/week/child.

A high standard has been applied to the instructional staff as our camp has become High Five registered. Each counsellor will go through Healthy Child Development training and meet a high level of safety and instruction on our way to becoming certified.

Entering its 23nd summer, the Golden Hawk Multi-Sport Camp at Wilfrid Laurier University has a new and energetic spin! Themed weeks, dress-up days, day trips and exciting “Choose Your Own Adventure” programming are only a few of the exciting elements of this camp!

A low ratio of staff to campers will see the sport sessions reach the heights of professionalism, quality in instruction and of course - fun! We also offer a wide variety of sport opportunities. Not only does our camp programming differ from week to week to accommodate returning campers, but programming changes on a daily basis as well!

CAMP FEATURES

Age of Camp Participants Multi-Sport Camp is designed for children aged 5-12 years of age. Children must be within the required age group by the first day of their camp week.

Golden Hawk leader-in-traininG proGramPROGRAM - 3 SessionsThe Leaders-In-Training program offers individuals aged 13-16 years a unique experience, as they will develop their leadership and teamwork skills through fun, interactive activities. LIT’s will also get the opportunity to shadow counsellors and lead activities for the younger campers.

The LIT program is meant to introduce the fundamentals of leadership in the hopes that they may apply these skills to their everyday life and future aspirations. Week one involves a focus on a variety of skills and experiences to prepare them for working with campers. Week two involves working as a volunteer with the camp, applying the skills and experiences hands-on.

CAMP FEATURESUnder the guidance of specialized session leaders, including a Camp Coordinator, LIT’s will get the opportunity to experience a number of excellent workshops.

Program highlights include: - Sessions on: leadership, communication, and teamwork- Résumé writing and interview preparation- Basic First-aid- Sport skill technique breakdown and sport lesson plan development - Weekly fun-filled trips #1. PROGRAM - July 29-August 2 & August 6-9, 2013Wilfrid Laurier’s Soccer School & Sports Camp provides boys and girls age 6-13 with the opportunity to develop their soccer skills in a positive and non-threatening environment. Participants will also be able to enjoy the off-field activities available at Wilfrid Laurier University.

Participants will be divided into three groups according to age and further divided by ability. This will allow the coaches to provide more personal instruction by working with small groups.

Each player is given special attention with a maximum player to coach ratio of 10:1.

The daily schedule will run from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.CAMP FEATURESON-FIELDThe on-field content will be heavily focused on technical skill development in a positive, non-threatening environment. The concentration will be on skill drills leading to small sided games. We are looking to provide a very positive experi-ence for all of the players.

OFF-FIELD

The off-field program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at Wilfrid Laurier University. These activities include: indoor soccer, swimming, dodgeball, organized games, video sessions, and climbing wall. Camp FeesWeek 1 : $200.00 Week 2 : $160.00

CAMP FEATURESON-ICEThe Laurier Women’s Varsity Hockey Team will be running this hockey development camp. Your player will receive 15 hours of on-ice instruction from outstanding role models who have demonstrated their dominance in the OUA by winning the conference title 8 of the last 9 years!

Sessions will include teaching individual skills as well as individual and team tactics. The on-ice program will include goal-tender instruction for 40 minutes of the session (a.m. only).

OFF-ICEThe off-ice program will utilize the outstanding facilities available at RIM Park. Players will be able to participate in a variety of sports and video sessions.

Also included: Proper Warm-up and Cool-down, Off-ice Training Activities, Games

This unique program will offer the opportunity for young players to talk to university athletes and learn first hand about the student-athlete experience.

PROGRAM - July 22- July 26, 2013NEW for the summer of 2013!

It’s an action-packed aquatic challenge for children who love the water and want more than traditional lessons. This program is ideal for quick learners, those caught in-between levels or programs, and youth who thrive in an energetic learning environment.

The Junior Lifeguard Camp (JLC) has been designed to serve a serious purpose, but the process is pure fun! The club stresses skill development based on personal-best achievements.

Students will work to develop and improve swimming and aquatic skills with emphasis on swimming and lifesaving skills, personal fitness, community education, lifesaving knowledge, leadership and teamwork. Up to seven recognition seals and lifesaving awards can be earned!

CAMP FEATURESINSTRUCTORSCurrent certified lifeguards and swim instructors will provide instruction and supervision for the camp to be held at the Athletic Complex pool.

IN-POOLThere will be a variety of pool sessions that offer a chance to see what real lifeguards do around the WLU aquatic center. Students will work to develop and improve swimming and aquatic skills with emphasis on swimming and lifesaving skills, personal fitness, community education, lifesaving knowledge, leadership and teamwork. Up to seven recognition seals and lifesaving awards can be earned!

DRY-LANDCampers will participate in a variety of dry-land activites that relate to lifesaving. There is a day trip on the Wednesday and a BBQ lunch on Friday!

Prerequisite:Children 8-15 who can swim a minimum of 25 metres and tread water for 2 minutes.

Cost: $210.00 for the week Extended hours are available for a flat rate of $30/week/child.

PROGRAM - August 12-16, 2013Female basketball players aged 8-15 years are invited to participate in FIVE ACTION PACKED DAYS of basketball drills and competitions.

Laurier’s Girls Basketball Summer Camp provides young athletes with the chance to improve their skills in a fun and challenging atmosphere.

Each player is given special attention with a maximum coach to player ratio of 1:10.

Participants are grouped in divisons based on age, skill and playing ability for both instruction sessions and games.
