TK-Series Tooth System

Why it’s better. TK-Series tooth shapesFD — The FD features the proven John Deere Fanggs™profile, an excellent choice for excavators and backhoes ingeneral-purpose applications. Designed to increase bucketfill and provide good penetration, the FD features a curvedshape for greater strength.

CH — The CH, or chisel tooth, is a general-application design.It is commonly preferred in rock applications due to goodpenetration and a self-sharpening profile. The CH provides agood balance between penetration and wear. NOTE: Not foruse on loaders.

TG — This tooth style, known throughout the industry as atiger tooth, is designed for excavators and backhoes. The solepurpose of the TG style is maximum penetration through anymaterial. The reduced area of the body of the tooth makes itan excellent choice for penetrating tightly compacted soils,clay, and even rock.

TT — This tooth is commonly referred to as twin tiger.Having two points rather than a single point, the cut of theTT style is much wider than a single TG tooth. It is commonlyused in conjunction with TG teeth fitted to the outsidecorner positions of excavator and backhoe buckets tomaximize clearance during the dig cycle. Like the TG tooth,the TT style is designed for optimum penetration.

FR — The FR style is referred to as a flare tooth. It is most

commonly used in softer soils and applications that requirea clean, flat bottom surface. This tooth has great bucket-fillcapability for excavators and backhoes.

LD — This tooth style is specifically designed for loaders. Thebottom of the tooth aligns with the bottom of a level loaderbucket, resulting in a clean floor. LD teeth wear primarily fromthe bottom up, so specific placement of tooth mass providesgood penetration and long life.

LDH — The LDH is a heavy-duty version of the LD. Withthis profile, penetration is maintained while additional wearmaterial is available. This tooth is ideal for high-abrasionloader applications.
