In addition to a readout of vehicle speed, the cluster provides range and charge status for electric mode. There is also a gas gauge that tracks and shows gasoline usage and expected range. There are two operation modes: • Electric Mode – When you are driving in Electric Mode, the battery gauge is colorful and more prominent in the cluster and the fuel gauge is grayed-out. • Extended Range – Extended Range is when the gas- powered on-board generator is running to keep the vehicle powered. When you are in extended range, the fuel gauge is highlighted and the battery gauge is grayed-out. There are two operating views for the cluster: • Simple Configuration View – In this view you see charge and range status along with speedometer and select vehicle notifications. • Enhanced View – This view provides a real-time driving efficiency gauge that shows how efficiently you are accelerating or braking. Driver Information Center (DIC) The DIC display, located in the lower center of the instrument cluster, provides the driver with valuable information for added peace of mind. New! Power Gauge Graphic – For 2013 a Power Gauge has been added to the DIC. This display provides a higher level of detail to show how much electrical power is used from either the battery or the range-extending gasoline engine while you’re driving or created and stored by regenerative braking. In addition to OnStar Turn-by-Turn directions, the DIC includes the following typical messaging: • Two trip odometers (with fuel used and calculated mpg). • Oil life. • Tire pressure monitoring. • Choice of U.S. or metric units. • Other DIC messages you might find on a traditional car. In addition to typical DIC functions, Volt’s DIC includes additional unique messages: • Battery and charging messages. • Charge Door Open. • Charge Cord Connected. • Mountain, Sport and Hold Driving Modes messages. • Propulsion power messages. • Forward Collision Alert Distance graphic (if equipped). In total, there are more than 60 types of DIC messages. A unique Tutorial Mode explains the meaning of displays when in PARK. Centerstack Display Screen The centerstack includes a 7" diagonal high-resolution touchscreen display. This is the primary interface for all infotainment and climate controls. It is also home to the available navigation system and is used to provide more detailed information on energy usage, powerflow and configuration of the charging plan. Functions can be triggered on the touchscreen or by using touch-sensitive controls on the centerstack. These unique non-mechanical controls eliminate traditional buttons. A touch from a finger is all you need. • Displays energy use and power flow. • Displays Rear Vision camera images automatically (if equipped) whenever the vehicle is placed into reverse. – Packaged with available ultrasonic rear park assist and auto-dimming inside rearview mirror. – Rear park assist symbols alert to objects in close proximity. • Standard radio displays OnStar Turn-by-Turn directions. This unique electric cabin heating and air conditioning system provides safe and comfortable operation in a wide variety of climate conditions. The system automatically controls fan speed, air delivery mode and recirculation to heat or cool the vehicle to the selected temperature.

The climate control system is controlled with touch-sensitive controls on the centerstack and also with controls on the center touchscreen. Pressing the climate button will give you access to climate mode, fan, air delivery, recirculationandautomaticheatedseats(ifequipped).
