2013-2014 Sponsorship Proposal
Could your company use some new positive attention in 2013-2014?
Why Hobbytown Racing would be a good fit?
With 200 store locations, Hobbytown USA is a major retailer selling hobby products, like radio controlled
cars / trucks and accessories, radio controlled air planes and helicopters, rockets, trains, models. Hobbytown USA
will have personal appearances at select locations all across the US for it’s official NHRA Drag Racing car, driven by
Joe Anderson III. The car and team will be promoted by Ford Racing, Hobbytown USA, and Combined Technology
Solutions, and on display at the Valkaria RC park, Hobbytown USA in West Melbourne, FL, and at car show’s all
around the south east US.
Joe has spent 20 years selling, servicing, and racing RC cars. Joe started selling RC cars at Hobbytown USA in
1995, in Plaistow, NH. After moving to Florida in early 2002, Joe became the RC department manager for Space
Coast Hobbies, in Palm Bay, FL.
After winning Superior Hobbies Nitro On-road expert classes of racing for 3 years in a row, Joe left Space
Coast Hobbies and took over CVEC, making new CNC aluminum parts for TRAXXAS, HPI, LOSI, and TEAM ASSOCIATED
vehicles. Joe also helped out with Superior Hobbies and PNP Hobbies, pushing sales up. In 2008 Joe took over the
RC department at the brand new Hobbytown USA in West Melbourne, Florida, and pushed sales beyond the goals
set by Hobbytown Corporate.
Joe left the day to day of Hobbytown USA, but continues to help out when the store needs it. He has pur-
sued his education and has been working on making his NHRA return to drag racing, with his father, 18 time NHRA
record holder as the crew chief and engine builder.
Joe was just elected Vice President of Valkaria RC, a new RC racing park with on road and off road tracks,
located at Valkaria Airport, Valkaria, FL. Joe has bought and sold products from Great Planes, Horizon Hobby, HRP,
Global, and Hobbytown USA. You couldn’t ask for a more knowledgeable person to represent your company.
To keep our budget down, we plan on attending the NMRA series, which is 7 races, and 3 NHRA National
events, or what ever combination that gets more attention for our sponsors. With highway miles and spectators at
each event, that’s over 1 million viewers seeing your company logo as a supporter of one of the greatest American
Racing pass times.
Please continue to read on to see how we can help with your company image and sales
going forward, with our other sponsors, Hobbytown USA with 200 locations, Ford Racing,
and Combined Technology Solutions.
With over 60 years of combined experience in the automotive field, and years of racing
in the NHRA, IHRA, and NMRA, we are determined to represent perfection for our
race team, and our sponsors.
Joe Anderson II started racing back in the early
‘70s running E/Gas. Joe II ran all across the
country in the NHRA and IHRA programs, set-
ting 18 national records in numerous classes.
In the late ‘70s Joe II advanced to the ranks of
NHRA’s highest level of naturally aspirated en-
gines in Pro Stock. During these years, Joe III
was old enough to help out at the tracks, as well
as in the shop. Most races ended up being a fa-
ther son combination.
Into the early ‘80s, Joe II moved up the ranks in
Pro Stock, finishing in the top 15 in the world.
This was no small task, with very little money.
The Anderson family knows what it takes to
make a competitive race team. Long hours, lots
of dedicated work, and a good attitude.
With Joe Anderson II as the Anderson Racing
Crew Chief and Technical advisor, and his sons
desire and passion to win championships, there is
nothing out of reach for this new team. With 18
NHRA National Records, R&D 100 Award,
Mayors Citation - Mayor Martin O'Malley, SAE
Recognition, Advanced Engine Technology Con-
ference Speaker, CNG Certificate of Appreciation

your company grow, while winning
races, and fans from all over the
country.

we can help market your company, increasing sales and exposure. Joe has been selling radio controlled

We are in the process of reserving new sponsors for the 2014 season, debuting the car at the 31st An-
nual Mustang & Ford show, located at Palm Bay Ford, Palm Bay, Florida in November 2013. Our current
sponsors are Hobbytown USA, Ford Racing, Combined Technology Solutions.
We are still looking for a major sponsor to join these fine companies as we build up for the 2014 sea-
son. Let us show the customers at the race track, in news letters, and on our website that your company has
so much to offer. Hobbytown is taking the first step in showing new customers where to buy these great RC

Marketing Opportunities that we can bring to you….
Imagine seeing the name of your business by hundreds of thousands, even millions of spectators. Seeing
the name of your business in a national publication as a supporter of one of the greatest racing sports in
America. The opportunities are endless and we have a package that will enhance your business.
Race car graphics: We will custom design a scheme which will include your company colors or logo.
There are limitless options to get the best visual exposure.
Transporter signage: The race car transporter acts as a rolling billboard with average mileage totaling
well over 15,000 miles a year. With the National Highway Association calculation of our major highways,
we can get an average of 31 views per mile. That is a total about half a million viewers on the highways
alone.
Personal Appearances: Arrange events for meet and greet opportunities with your customers at auto
shows, local attractions, grand openings, and trade shows. Ever want to bring more people to your booth
at a trade show, like SEMI, PRI, iHobby Expo? Nothing better than having a high performance race car in
your booth, representing your company.
About the Driver…..
Joseph Anderson III
Joe grew up the son of drag racer, NHRA Pro Stock driver Joe Anderson II, owner of Combined Tech-
nology Solutions of Ridgely, MD. He is a student at DeVry University, majoring in Computer Infor-
mation Science, with a GPA of 3.85.
Growing up in Downingtown PA, Joe worked with his father as part of the Pro Stock crew, helping from
simple tasks around the shop, to helping build engines to help support the racing team. Joe learned much
of his racing talent from his father, but was also around great talent like Bill Jenkins, Joe Lapone, Frank
Iaconio, and Bob Glidden.
In the mid ‘80s, after the Andersons lost the racing program due to a tragic fire, Joe continued to work
around the shop building high performance cars with his father. In the late ‘80s Joe joined the United
States Navy, and went to boot camp in San Diego, CA. While in CA, Joe started racing 1/10 scale R/C
cars and trucks with Losi JRXT, at all the tracks in San Diego area. When Joe got out of the United
States Navy in the early ‘90s, Joe moved to Massachusetts to be near his father, who was again drag rac-
ing. Joe ended up buying a 1987 Camaro, and at his very first point’s race at New England Dragway, he
took home the title of “King of the Street” and the first place trophy.
In the late ‘90s, Joe decided to work on his career, and went to work at GTE as a Network Technician,
and later a supervisor. After that tragic day, September 11, 2001, GTE merged with Bell Atlantic to be-
come Verizon. GTE ended up laying off over 60% of the staff, and Joe ended up taking the severance
package and moved to Palm Bay, Florida. While in Palm Bay, Joe started playing around with the radio
control cars again, and started racing them while managing a few hobby shops, like Space Coast Hob-
bies, and Hobbytown USA in West Melbourne, FL. Not long after his first central Florida RC Champi-
onship, Joe was offered a sponsorship with CVEC. CVEC made CNC exhaust systems for the radio con-
trolled market, and Joe took the opportunity to help the company update its product line to what the cus-
tomers wanted. In 2004 Joe ended up running the R&D and Sales of the company, and took it to new
areas with the help of some of Joe’s friends at TRAXXAS. Sales soared. Just one exhaust designed by
Joe, outsold all other CVEC products combined.
After the company was forced to close, after the passing of the bank owner, and note holder of CVEC,
Joe decided to go back to work as an automotive technician, while starting his education at DeVry. Joe
is still part of the Hobbytown family in West Melbourne, FL and is currently Vice President of the new
Radio Control park being built in Valkarea, FL, http://valkariarc.com

About CVEC, and Joe
When Joe took over at CVEC, the one thing Joe noticed was all the exhaust systems that they produced
were outdated, and illegal to use on any ROAR approved race tracks. ROAR is the US sanctioning
body for radio controlled car or truck racing. CVEC had an exhaust that had moving parts, which was
against the rules set. Joe quickly designed a race legal exhaust, and resurrected the name CVEC Rac-
ing.
CVEC Racing was a major sponsor of 2 time NHRA Pro Stock Motor-
cycle World Champion, Angelle Seeling and Star Racing in 2002.
Angelle and George Bryce went on to win 2 more World Champion-
ships. Joe then began testing the new legal pipes on ready to run cars
and trucks from TRAXXAS, HPI, LOSI, and AE, all major brands of
radio controlled ready to run cars and trucks in the United States.
With over 50,000 exhaust systems sold for the TRAXX-
AS line up, and over 10,000 sold for the HPI line up, in
less than 2 years, Joe took CVEC from a failing compa-
ny, to a profitable one. We had great support from com-
panies like Great Planes, Horizon Hobby, Hobbytown
USA, Superior Hobbies, PNP Hobbies, and Global Hob-
bies, TRAXXAS, and Hobby Products International.

NHRA drag racing is an open and accessible experience that’s shared with genuine people; the fans, drivers
