THIS WAS THE FORMER SITE OF SUMMER RESIDENCEPURCHASED IN 1802 FROM LUIS ROCHA BY COLONELMIGUEL JOSE FORMENTO, WHOSE TESTAMENTARYEXECUTORS SOLD IT TO THE SPANISH GOVERNMENTIN 1825. BY ROYAL DECREES OF 1847, THISPROPERTY WAS SET ASIDE AS THE SUMMERRESIDENCE OF THE GOVERNOR GENERAL. THE
