Scene 1- Installation

Dr. Fred-(muttering to himself)

Farmer Alex- Well howdy! Seems like my new SunFlower Power Plant will be up n’ running in a few minutes. You must be that German scientist, Frederstark.

Dr. Fred- Engineer actually, Herr Farmer. (squints eyes in disgust) And my name is Dr. Frederick Eberstark.

Farmer Alex- Well Mister Eberick, my names Alex. And I got me a farm here to run. You see, my flowers require some fertilizin’ and ever since them veehickles went electric, everything seems to be runnin’ on electicity. This here machine will save me lotso’ money by converting that sunshine that’s alrady free into energy fer me! Or really, my flowers.

Dr. Fred- My name, Herr Farmer, is Frederick Eberstark… and let me explain something to you…

ChorusThe Sun is a mass of incandescent gas

A gigantic nuclear furnace

Where hydrogen is built into helium at a temperature of millions of degreesThis flower here that I hold dear will give you energy

By converting sunlight into e-lec-tri-ci-ty

Page 2: 2012 Uber Script. the Final Countdown.

TangentWhen the radiation from the sun is collected in this devicethe electrons flow into the galvanic cellwhich create potential energyand are converted to DC then AC electricity

Dr. Fred turns on the flower

Alex- Look at that there electricity! I think I’m reddy to use my fertilizer.

Dr. Fred- Gut, very good. I shall return in a few days to check up on your SunFlower Power Plant. Good day, Herr Farmer. -_-

Alex- Later Y’all! :D

Spotlight changes, starts to dim.. (film)

Leona- LILYYY (No answer). Lilyyyyy wake uppppp.

Lily- Leona, what is it now.

Leona- Lily, I don’t know what’s going on! Like, all of a sudden my petals are starting to shrivel and fall! That cute Cosmo over there will see me like this, and you know how those annuals are, they are so difficult to keep around!

Lily- I don’t beleaf you should worry, Leona, you aren’t the only one feeling droopy. Maybe the sun is just taking a break behind one of those clouds.

Leona- Okay. Maybe some fertilizer will help us feel better. Wait, what’s a cloud?

Scene 2-

This scene takes place behind in a silhouette. Red flashes for anger in each of the silhouettes.

Alex-Heya Dr. Eberstark! All my flowers are dying! Somethin must be goin wrong with that sunflower power plant!

Dr. Fred-There is nothing wrong with my beautiful creation! You must be delirious Herr. Farmer!

Alex- My crop is my livelihood! You want to tell me what’s so great about your here invention?

Page 3: 2012 Uber Script. the Final Countdown.

Dr. Fred- This, Herr Farmer is the greatest solar power innovation for agriculture since the solar panel. Solar Panels were used to power the inventions that people had created during the industrial revolution, cars, trains and even communication devices!

Farmer Alex- This doesn’t mean anything to me! My crops are dyin! Why should I care about all of them INNOVATIONS.

Dr. Fred- Well you see, this invention takes all of those to the next level! It uses the solar collecting power of plants and converts it into chemical energy, this chemical energy is put through a chemical cell where it builds up electric potential between the passing of electrons, which creates a direct current of electricity. This direct current is converted into alternating current, which then can be used by anyone to power anything!

Farmer- Well your stupid invention doesn’t seem to be “perfect” because it is killing everything else!

Dr. Fred- You’ll see, you are completely incorrect! I will come over to prove to you my invention is genius!

Slams phone hangs up, the light on his end of the silhouette goes out.

Alex- You SCIENTISTS AND YOUR INVENTIONS!

Dr. Fred’s silhouette lights up

Dr. Fred- ENGINEER!

Scene 3 Photowhattttt?

Leona- Lillyyyyyyy

Lily- Yes, Leona. I know, I’m feeling it too.

Leona- What happened to our energy source? I feel so depleted.

Lily- You aren’t very bright, are you? It seems as if our rays are being reflected elsewhere, so our energy is obviously not being created.

Leona- But, like, what does the sun have to do with us? You keep talking about the sun as if it is the pinnacle of our existence.

Lily- Do you even know what you just said?

Leona- No. But like, seriously, how does it affect ME?

Page 4: 2012 Uber Script. the Final Countdown.

Lily- Well you see, photosynthesis is the process that drives all of us plants, well maybe except for that huge one over there. At first the sun’s energy and carbon dioxide are absorbed by our leaves, which are changed into sugars and “food” that can be used as energy, also known as Calories or Joules.

Leona- Jewels? Like Tiffany and Co, diamonds and pearls?

Lily- Close, (pained expression) except, no. Joules are very small units of energy that allow the different energetic processes to occur, like for us, food!

Leona- NO WONDER I’M SO HUNGRY!

Lily- Yes Leona. We are solar powered organisms, this is the most basic form of solar power. Now that flower over there seems a little bit different from us. It seems to be using photosynthesis in a new way, by absorbing sunlight in a concentrated manner. But look, rather than using the energy for food, it is powering our fertilizer!

Leona- OH. EM. GEE. It’s taking away our food, but also making us grow! OH THE IRONY!

Lily- Do you understand what you just said?

Leona- Nope. Not a clue. Is it that hard to be-leaf? So how are we going to solve this problem?

Lily-Well, If the other plant had a different technique in gathering the sun, then we could all share! Maybe we should PLANT this idea into the humans’ heads, because we don’t have control over that new flower.

Leona- yeah, well. That flowers petals are so last season anyway. Everyone knows that.

Scene 4- THE PLANTED IDEA

Farmer Alex- You see what you have done to my crops! This will ruin me… I should have never bought this device…

Dr. Fred- Have you no faith in innovation?! Let me look that this sunflower power plant…

(While Frederick and Alex look at the flower, Leona and Lily sneak up behind them with a hat with a plant on top to represent the “planted” idea. They stick it on his head)

Dr. Fred- Oh my goodness, it just came to me!

Alex- Well, it’s about time Misterr Frederstark.

Page 5: 2012 Uber Script. the Final Countdown.

Dr. Fred- (Gives Alex a dirty look) Well aren’t you mister sunshine. You see, this flower is absorbing too much sunlight, which is confusing the photogalvanic cell and allowing the flower to absorb all of the nutrients in the soil, which is KILLING ALL OF YOUR FLOWERS!

(braden puts in tonic water,)

Alex- well hey, what did you just do?

Dr. Fred says- This fluid slows down the process of oxidation and reduction in the photogalvanic cell, hopefully allowing the SunFlower Power Plant to absorb less nutrients and sunlight.

Alex- So I’m going to get my produce out to sell. YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

PLANTS

Leona- Hey Lilllyyyyyy

Lily- I KNOW!! :D

Leona- The Sun, it’s back! It seems they found the root of the problem!

Lily- Yes we can survive! Look…

Here comes the sun…

Here comes the sun and we say

we share it!

Leona- IT’S ABOUT TIME.
