(U) It is Highly Likely that in a limited conflict with Poland, Russia using it’s air, sea, and missile assets would overcome Poland's defensive capabilities.

(U) Due to Russia’s superior forces and ability dedicate large numbres of personnel and deploy personnel and systems in a rapid fashion Polish forces will be overwhelmed.

built at the Yantar Shipbuilding Plant in Kaliningrad, Russia. Uran anti-ship missile system with two eight-cell launchers (16 missiles).

Launches the Kh-35 cruise missile, uses inertial guidance with active radar homing, cruises at 15m above sea level, terminal phase drops to a sea-skimming altitude of 3m to 5m. Maximum range is 130km.

Klinok air defence missile system. Four vertical launch modules, each with eight missiles, are mounted just behind the 100mm gun, Klinok 9M330 missile (Nato designation SA-N-9 Gauntlet)

range is from 12km to 15km and the target altitude is from 10,000m to 6,000m. The missile, which is armed with a 15kg warhead, can engage four targets simultaneously up to a maximum target speed of 700m/s

Kashtan (Nato designation SA-N-11 Grisson) air defence gun / missile system, comprising one command system with two combat modules (64 missiles and 600 rounds) mounted either side of the satellite communications dome

Each system is equipped with a 30mm twin Gatling gun, the laser beam guided missile system, and a fire control radar and optronic director.

first entered service in the early 1980s six watertight compartments current production versions, the Type 877EKM and the Type 636 equipped with six 533mm forward torpedo tubes. Kilo Class Type 636 is only 1.2m longer in length than Kilo Class Type

877EKM. The Type 636 submarine is considered to be to be one of the quietest diesel

submarines in the world. It is said to be capable of detecting an enemy submarine at a range three to four times greater than it can be detected itself

The system's high-speed computer can process information from the surveillance equipment and display it on the screen; determine submerged and surface target data and calculate firing parameters; provide automatic fire control; and provide information and recommendations on manoeuvres and deployment of weapons

eight Strela-3 or Igla surface-to-air missiles Strela-3 (NATO Designation SA-N-8 Gremlin) has a cooled infrared seeker and

2kg warhead. Maximum range is 6km Igla (NATO designation SA-N-10 Gimlet) is also infrared-guided but heavier,

with a maximum range of 5km and speed of Mach 1.65. can be fitted with the Novator Club-S (SS-N-27) cruise missile system which

fires the 3M-54E1 anti-ship missile. Range is 220km with 450kg high-explosive warhead.

Two torpedo tubes are designed for firing remote-controlled torpedoes with a very high accuracy. The computer-controlled torpedo system is provided with a quick-loading device. The first salvo is fired within two minutes and the second within five minutes.

Type 636 is fitted with the MGK-400EM digital sonar provides: detection of submarine and surface ship targets in sonar listening

mode; echo-ranging in a ±30° sector of the target relative bearing; telephone and telegraph communication in both long and short-range modes; detection of underwater sound signals and determination of the signal bearing.

The submarine's radar works in periscope and surface modes and provides information on the underwater and air situation, radar identification and navigational safety.

(U) SS-21 Tochka/Scarab, designed for mobile, autonomous operation and is capable of striking point and area targets at ranges of 50 – 280 km.

(U) Iskander missile systems with a range of 500 km (310 miles) could target the entire territory of Poland,

(U) Iskander - E missile is a single stage, solid fuel missile weighing 3.8 tons, carrying a payload of 480 kg. it can be loaded with cluster, blast-fragmentation or penetration warheads. A Thermobaric warhead is also believed to be part of the missile's warhead options. An unconventional warhead could also be an option, including a tactical nuclear warhead.
